Yeah I know the thought is scary but it has made me feel a little better. Plus you waste less rogaine. Going bald sucks and most of us on this forum have OCD, but think about some of the bald celebs out their who look good bald like, Vin Diesel, Bruce, Kelly Slater, Michael Jordan. Yes I still think about my hairloss, but it does not own me like it did before. Plus some ladies dig bald guys. I am 21 and feeling like your youth is getting robbed from you sucks but what it boils down to, why us men are on this thing is because we feel less attractive. To me it seems that a women would rather be with a man who is confident and secure than a man who has a full set of hair. I can tell you guys out their I am feeling a little better now. (Yes it would be nice to have a full set of hair but what can you do) I would shave your head to try it out and maybe you will like it who knows. I am still doing the big three to see how it goes and I don't waste to much rogaine now that I have no hair!

Agree

I shaved my head a couple months ago and found that I became less obsessive about my hair and more positive about myself. I shaved it again two weeks ago and have now come to believe that in doing this, I have allowed the minoxidil i am applying to get right into the follicle instead of soaked up by some of the surrounding hair. I think this has actually helped in speeding up the process for me. I have now found that I am getting alot of regrowth on the crown, however, this hair is all very light colored. Hopefully my continued diligence will allow these to become darker and at least make my bald spot alot smaller!!...Shave your head men, you may be pleasantly surprised!!!

yes, Shaving your head will help you both, mentally and phisically to combat hairloss and help the process.

To some of you guys, who still wear long hair, be realistic.

You can't have "AXL Rose" or "Kurt Cobain" long hair from 1990, when you are losing your hair, you need to cut it really short or shave it off. This will help the whole process. Even Axl Rose is now bald. :)

Check out Bosley in Chicago, I have seen the work they done on a friend of mine and he looks great. I have the same problem with the thining of the hair and it has made me sick within the past 3 months. I ordered sprays, gels, cream thinking I would get my hair back but I am just fooling myself. If everything works out I will be having a transplant within the next month at Bosley in Chicago. I was just about to order a new car till I looked in the mirror and felt very depressed.

I meet the Doctor on Dec 24 th and I hope to have this done in January.
It's alot of money to spend on hair but I will no longer stay away from family or friend because I am worried about what will be said about my
hair that is thining. The price I will be paying for a full head of hair is
$20,000. I wish I could shave my head and be ok with it :(

I will post my website once the surgery is compleated b4 and after pics.

Peace

Rockwell, did Bosley tell you you'd have a full head of hair? How many grafts are they recommending?

I would shave my head but I I dont think I have the head for it. I think you have to have a nice light bulb shaped head to look good shaved. The back of my head is flatter than it should be I believe...Maybe my mom left me in the crib too long as an infant.

Hairloss has been with my family for generations so while i still had a full head of hair I shaved it aged 17, now 12 years later when baldness is attacking I try to keep it shaved so it doesnt look so out of place

I completely agree with eBOW and GoodGuy.

Screw if you have the head for it or not, just try it. You can always let it grow back if you feel that looks better and makes you feel better.

Win - win situation.

Try something new.

I cant now because of two bad transplants, corn rows and major scar across the back. I live in a hat, to everybody think before you get a transplant, you dont know where your hairline will be in 15 years.
