I've just recently decided to take an active approach to my hairloss and use the big 3. The results have kinda been what i expected initial sheds followed by periods where not much happens. I noticed though that almost 85% of the hairs i shed are really short, less than half the normal length of my hair. Do any of you guys have any indication to what this could mean?? Bad sign?

I wouldnt read much into it. Ive wondered this myself before but really havent found a concrete answer. But I would say, not a bad sign at all.

Hey, I would like to know as well. 90% of the hairs that fall out are very thin in diameter and only grow to max 1/2 in - 1in long when all my hairs are longer than 5 in!

Those are the hairs from the follicles that were dying. They're the ones that are responding to the treatments to keep them alive. They're semi dormant, and all the sudden they're being told to grow with significant force. This 'shock' can send the follicles back to the begining of the growth cycle, and in that shed the current stunted hair. The healthy hair is already in a full growth cycle so theres no effect, they dont shed.

And while it doesnt nessisarily mean your hair will grow back thicker, it is still generally a good sign (that something is happening).

Thanks for the response. I've been noticing this pattern for the last 3 weeks now and was curious whether or not it meant progress or that the treatmentes weren't working.. Its good to hear that it's somewhat of a good sign. I'd rather see those little ones go then the ancestors that still exist and haven't been affected yet.
