I've been using minoxidil for the past six weeks and lately, all the hair I shed is thin. What is the deal with this?

One more thing. In the past two days, I've begun shedding a lot more. I'm fearing another shed similar to one i experienced a few months ago where I lost a lot of density.

How am I to know minoxidil is responsible and this is not another devastating shed from which I will never recover.

I don't think anybody will really know for sure. On one hand, you could be shedding due to minoxidil, and maybe in a few weeks you'll have regrowth. On the other hand, you could be losing hair those hairs.

Just keep going with minoxidil, as you've nothing to lose, if you stop, you'll lose hair, if you keep going, you may gain some regrowth. If you really want to stop, maybe consider alternative medication.

Yeah I won't be stopping the minoxidil because that's the only decent option I have at the moment.

It can't be.

There are many other options.
Shaved Head, finasteride, dutasteride, Saw Palmetto, spironolactone, Nizoral, hair transplant, Wigs, and if all else fails, get a tiger to lick your head.

So far the only proven 100% hair regrowth treatment is the lick of a man-eating tiger's tongue, on your bald head (or thinning area).

But in all seriousness, just keep with it and hope for the best.

Treatment wise, I cannot start those orals at the moment because I am only 17. The other methods have not been proven to work have they?

Since two days ago i'm shedding little tiny hairs too though it's a little. I think minoxidil it's not enough that's why i decided to take a shot on dutasteride.
