Shedding With Nizoral 2% And Caffeine Conditioner

I take small does of finasteride and use minoxidil twice a day. Just under two months ago I switched to Nizoral 2% (every 3rd day) and PURA D'OR Hair Thinning Therapy Conditioner (everyday) as it contains caffeine and I’m told that helps. [Previously I was using Regenpure DR (has 1% ketoconazole, I think) and Silk 18 conditioner every day.]

I’ve experience significant shedding in the month after that switch. Really noticeable on the hairline. Is it possible this a shed for new growth? If so, how long should I stick with the 2% to see? It’s been almost 2 months and it’s definitely worse.

Or alternately, is this a bad sign and I should stop Nizoral immediately? I don’t notice any redness or signs of inflammation or anything.

Thanks.

Wash your hair and scalp with nizoral, then I'd apply olive or coconut oil to your scalp not so much the hair, then in an hour or two rinse with luke warm water and your conditioner. Then don't even wet your hair until your next wash (3 days). If you strip your hair of sebum your body will produce more to make up for it. You can strip your hair with just hot water. This is why I recommend good oils to replace sebum. I'd say give it another month or two. Though, I've certainly had a drastic Shedd before I've never experienced a "dead shedd". After shedding a hair no growth happens for 3 weeks. From what I've read anyway. So hopefully your just about to start to see some stronger regrowth.

When you say don't wet for 3 days, are you saying not even Minoxidil twice a day?

I am currently experiencing the same thing! Since starting using nizoral about three months ago my hair is so dry and brittle and is falling so much. Is this the same for you, hair condition wise? I am going to stop using nizoral for while I think, I already use a caffeine shampoo which does f*** all really, but just gonna stick with that.
