Should I Consider Treatment (22 Y/o)?

Hey guys,
I'd like to hear your opinion on whether I should consider starting a treatment already. Short side information: There are no known bald males nor females on either side of my parents. I used to have very thick and strong hair but my hairline started receding half a year ago. Made blood tests which fortunately were fine. I do have neurodermatitis on the back of my head though. And I noticed I actually only lose hair while showering - in between I almost never see my hair fall out.
I am definitely balding and thinking about starting with treatments but have trouble deciding what to go for: minoxidil or finasteride? So any advice would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for your advices, guys! I had an appointment last friday and the Doctor prescribed me a tincture with Minoxidil. I wasn't well informed and bought it, just to find out later, that finasteride prevents hairloss and Minoxidil only increases the growth. Did I get that right?

Also, will finasteride have impact on growth or "only" on stopping the loss?

And would you recommend trying out the tincture or should I get a new appointment since it is nonsense to try Minoxidil for 3 months?

Again, thank you for your time and kind responses!

Don't touch minoxidil. Finasteride, or it's a bust.

As a young person myself, the consistency that is necessary when it comes to applying minoxidil is unbearing.

Dry scalp, runny, infrequent headache, heart palpitations, and collagen reduction.

If you're not using finasteride, you're not trying to stop hairloss... Period. The results of minoxidil is momentary, but it's the biggest long con that you could possibly put yourself through regarding hairloss.

Like being offered a mirror that make you appear full head, when in reality your scalp is melting away like aspirin.

Not to mention the inclination that you'd have if it were to stop being effective, you would then leverage it over other medication within regimen such as finasteride.

Frankly, the moment that finasteride stops maintaining the results that minoxidil yielded, you are likely to sacrifice finasteride first merely out of not knowing causation.

Either get on both finasteride and minoxidil, or only finasteride. Case closed. Getting on minoxidil only is a waste imo unless you're young.

I have the same density like you, but your hairline is slightly better than mine.

Get on treatments asap if you want to save your hair.

In addition to maintenance, finasteride gives most users some regrowth, although usually not much.
You can read some medical papers to learn about it.

If I were you I would get on both minoxidil and finasteride. Are there really no known bald people on either side of your family?

All you lucky bastards catch your hair loss so early. Take advantage of it.
for real. this is as early as it gets. just starting to have miniaturized hair and finasteride is great to thicken that up. stick with the treatment and the chances are no one will notice your hair loss for a very very long time.

if that's the case, you deserve it OP. i was in denial for far too long
