Hey guys,

I've been on minoxidil and dermarolling since late August (so 5 months). Although it's super cheap and easy (I only use it once a day) I can't honestly say that I haven't seen any huge improvements. Do you think I should drop it? I've been applying to my temples, forelock, and cowlick area. I've been on finasteride for over a year too.

No offense Dave, but minoxidil works best on people who are actually balding. Your hair is perfect. Mirin the hair bro.

Thank you for the kind words Doctor. I was shedding A LOT last year so I think I was starting to loss. At the very least I'll stay on finasteride as its cheap and I haven't had any sides on it.

With hair like yours, I can see why you had 500 matches. In the second photo, why is your hair almost gray looking on the temple or is that just highlights? You are still a NW1 by the way.

Probably lighting and the start of miniaturization.

Again, thank you for the kind words. I still rock a comb over kind of hair cut because of my massive forehead.

How many fingers from your eyebrows to your hairline? I am betting 3 fingers. I used be that about 15 years ago. If I wrinkle my brow to shrink my forehead, I can do 3 fingers. I need a forehead reduction and I would in better shape. 3 finger forehead looks good for me.

I saw a young guy today with long hair pulled back in pony tail who is a NW2.5 and looked like a 5 finger head or more. I admired him for wearing that style and he wore it proud. He was with a cute girl too.

You have small fingers and hand so it looks close to a 3 fingers and it would be the top of your brow to the hairline. Regardless, your hair is better than 99 percent of the people posting here so enjoy it.

Damn

here I've been feeling very happy about my restored NW2

You're like a thick NW0 and worried that treatments aren't working?

tfw over a year ago I was being labeled a Norwood 3 on other forums

Dave, you need to reread the post. He said "potential" NW3 which means worse case scenario for you. He basically does not think you are going to be a high Norwood. Looks like minoxidil actually reversed your temple loss. You respond great to it.

To be honest with you my hair has looked the same since like 8-9 months on Finasteride. Aka adding minoxidil didn't do anything in terms of cosmetic results.

I think I good policy is:

NW1, with maybe the first signs of loss starting to show, try just finasteride

If loss continues, or you're NW2+, add minoxidil as well

hey roberto, does that progesterone acetate, cytoproterone acetate work in your regime?
Yes. They help regrow some lost temple hair. Some strands. No great density though.
