If it's a question of life and death for you, start taking it, but if you can still somehow manage with a bald head, DO NOT touch the poison -- you just can't live a healthy life anymore with all the side effects.
huh ? what ?
Finasteride has severe side effects.

For A VERY SMALL MINORITY ...
I have been on finasteride for > 1 year and had no sides .. there are pleny of people who had no sides so please don't go around scaremongering ...

I can only speak for myself, but getting on finasteride was the best thing I ever did. I started losing my hair at the tender age of 17 and there was no doubt it was male pattern baldness. I tried lots of stuff but only finasteride worked. Today I'm 33 and, as you can see, my hair is still there (I'm a NW2).

Anyway, you have to be sure that you suffer from male pattern baldness. Talk to your doctor and follow his instructions. Your photos are not clear.

Fanjeera,

At the bottom of your post it says Finasteride ruined my life. How long did you take it for and how did it ruin your life?
Low libido, brain fog, anxiety, slurred speech, muscle twitches, weakness.

Most derms do not know Dick. I can save you the trouble. Do you have any family history of male pattern baldness? yes or no. You look like you have lots of hair so if you have no family history every derm will basically say your fine stop worrying about it and have a nice day. Thats what most of them said to me.

i definitely see thinning on the crown. it looks like the pattern where it sort of starts as a middle part and begins to widen, not the usual "bald spot".

please take some pics with your hair pulled back hard, showing the temple hair line, with GOOD light and high res
