Hey guys, I've been on .5 propecia and nizoral for about a year and half, during that time i experienced sides and dropped down to .25 for about 3-4 months and ended up losing a lot of ground, i have since then bumped it back up to .5mg. My concern is my hairline, what used to be a nice straight full line is now a disaster. I was wondering what you guys think, should I add foam on my hairline and hope to get thickness back or is it gonna shed and mess up the little hairs that are already there?

PS. I am only 24 and I have very low tolerance for medication... don't want to end up with all the minoxidil sides :( FML!!!!!!!

Man, you are barely balding at ALL. Chill out.

I use MIN on my hairline and have never had a shed. It's helped me quite a bit.

If you start using it you could probably strengthen the hairs round your hairline and even grow more but remember when you start MIN you're on it for LIFE.

If you decide to stop using it one day all the hairs you grew with it will fall out finasteride or no finasteride.

you already got a good hair loss so your lucky and your young also, your in that catch 22 situation where if u start your dammed yet your dammed if u dont.

It looks a little to me that yeah your loosing your hair line a little but its not exactly obvious and maybe not even worth starting on minoxidil.....

And yes its good you started on the other 2 rather then starting on minoxidil...

I wish I started before I hit 20 but didnt get the chance and now my hair line is gone forever :sobbing:

thanks guys, yes I am at the tender age where it feels like my hairline is my livelihood, but i appreciate the comments and suggestions. I guess ill hold off and stay on the big 2 for now and save the minoxidil for later.

My hair loss is very simliar to yours, I know what your going through as I use to have a perfectly straight hair loss myself and have seen it recede past couple years. I have been putting the foam along my hair loss and temple region for past 3mos. I dont think it is really helping, but its still to early to tell. But if I were u I would say go for it, who cares if u have to do it everyday for rest of your life, I think its a small price to pay if wanna maintain your hair loss>
