Hi Guys,

I did post not too long ago, but had no response. Basically last summer i was training for a boxing match, so stupidly jumped onto Testosterone to help build some muscle. Whilst taking this for around 16 weeks, it was around week 12 when the shedding started, losing lots of hair in the shower, and my hair turned into awful condition, really wiry, frizzy, dry etc

I was advised to use nizoral shampoo every day, and jump onto 1mg fina every day. After 8 weeks or so the shedding slowed down, my hair was still bad quality. I stopped taking fina as i was scared it would damage my health in some way. Now 6 months after coming off the fina, the shedding has started again, i feel as though my hair is going thinner at the front, both left and right side.

I do have really thick hair, but do feel as though i am losing too much, and im not sure if its the DHT that could be causing the wiry, frizzy, dry and kinked hair? If i was to pull my hair, i would get a fair few hairs in my hand.

I am 25 and want to keep my hair for as long as possible, my dad did lose his at around 30 years old.

Would jumping on fina now have long term health problems etc

As much advice as possible will be deeply appreciated

You have no choice, you knew the risks that aas speeds up male pattern baldness and now you have to deal with it. Either go on finasteride and other stuff or risk losing your precious hair while waiting for a cure 30 years from now.

Also why the hell would you do aas knowing your father lost his hair at 30?....

To be honest mate, lack of research. I was always told that I have my mums family hair, really thick. With it being so thick, stupidly thought I was never to lose it. My mistake. If I jump on now, is that it, stay on for life? I know I'm stupid, and I've made a big mistake, I now need as much help and advice as possible to help keep my hair.

20-30 hairs in the shower, that is deffo coming out isn't it?

See a dermatologist, they can know for sure.

And losing 20-30 hairs is not male pattern baldness lol, humans lose many hairs a day.

Yes I read that. But i mean when I shampoo my hair there would be 20-30 hairs on my hands, same when condition. Hairs on my desk at work, and on my pillows. If I run my hands through it, always end up with a 3 or 4 hairs every time

If you have male pattern baldness which it sounds like you do start finasteride. You could keep your hair forever, maybe not, but finasteride is very effective

Ok,

I will jump on, see what happens. I have got the 5mg tabs, so will split into quarters. They work out expensive though, around £80 for 3 months. Is there anywhere you can get these cheaper.

I am worried about long term sides, as im jumping on at the age of 25. Is there any long term bad side effects. Also when taking Finasteride, can it effect you work in the gym and muscle growth?

Cheers Guys

get generic finasteride, it is far cheaper. There are no permanent sides of finasteride. As someone who lifts and has continued to make gains after starting I can say it has a negligible effect and there has never been any proof it has an effect that is of any signficance

I was looking to get Generic before i bought these but did not know where to go, read alot about scams etc

I am also worried about the big shed that i should expect very soon after starting. Does this always happen? Will that hair grow back. Is it the DHT that is causing the horrid condition of my hair?
