I have been using Propecia for about 1 year, Monoxidil for about a month, and have been using Nioxin shampoo, conditioner, and scalp clenser. I have heard of Xandrox. Is it worth trying or just some more bullshit

Unless you are completely bald give the minoxidil a year to do it's stuff.

yeah the oily thing is sh*t and the 56 hour drying period is a pain, try Dr Lee's formula (same people who make Xandrox), less oily, dry in under 30 minutes.

Get it here: https://www.xandrox.com/

You want to be looking for product 500 standard minoxidil, it has less greasy PPG and more alcohol which in theory should help with absoption.

With propecia and minoxidil it would be wise to be using Nizoral shampoo and/or T/gel 2 or 3 times a week, this should help with the dandruff.

most people experience a flakey scalp when first using minoxidil (mine were the size of f*****g cornflakes so help me lord jesus) but with the use of Nizoral and/or T/gel this is soon brought under control.

Good Luck

Have you ever used nioxin, its pretty cool. My hair is cut very short right now and the hair strands feel as if they were any stiffer they would break. I guess what I mean to say is the hair feels real strong. But it doesn't promote growth only a clean scalp environment. I definately will check out that website. Also what do you think of fluridil, provillus and recent advecia. I dont know what my norwood is but if I stand under a really bright light I can see a clear pattern, its just thinner. If I only knew what to do about my hairline. I would enjoy it if you wrote back TynanW

Thanks for making fun of me, I am new to this, only bits and pieces of information. Xandrox appears to be very exciting , can you get XANDROX15 for cheaper than 88.00

First off, don't switch to Xandrox. The problems you are facing are easily solved by switching to a lower PPG minoxidil, such as Ty recommended. Give the minoxidil at least a year.

I am experimenting with Xandrox now... but I have been on minoxidil for over a year and got good results. I am just experimenting with it because I'm 35 and have some hair follicles that have been cosmetically dormant for over a decade, and I am just giving it a month test drive to see if anything sprouts and if not, I am switching back. I occasionally try some new things in my hairloss regimen, just to get an idea of their look and feel and how they work, and I will be doing a writeup on my thoughts on Xandrox 15 as soon as my personal study is complete, probably in a month or month and a half.

Let me tell you, if you don't like the greasiness of Rogaine, then forget about ever using Xandrox 15. It's like syrup. You should instead try Dr Lee's 5% standard minoxidil, item 500.

As for Nioxin, I believe the active ingredient in it is Saw Palmetto, which is useless to promote regrowth. However, the shampoo might have other properties that work for you, but the makers of Nioxin have not published any studies saying that their shampoo helps hair thickness.

that's ok!

I think Xandrox is only made by Dr Lee so I would think it unlikely that you can get it cheaper.

It is just minoxidil with azelaic acid in, it's not the holy grail or anything.

read this:

___________________________________________________

Quantity and Ingredients:
65 mL. 5% minoxidil (50 mg minoxidil / mL) plus 5% azelaic acid (50 mg azelaic acid
/ mL) in a liquid base of 50% alcohol, 30% propylene glycol, 20% water

How long does 65 mL last?
65 mL is a 1 month supply when used twice daily as directed or 2 months supply when
used once a day and in combination with 5% Xandrox plus retinoic acid at night.

Directions:
Apply 1 mL of 5% Xandrox liquid twice daily at least eight hours apart. It is important
to apply the topical Xandrox directly to your scalp, where the medicine will be
most effective. Fill the medicine dropper with 1 mL of liquid. If you have pattern
baldness, apply the 5% Xandrox liquid to the areas of hair recession or balding
areas. If your hair loss is generalized, part your hair in as many as six places
and apply a portion of the 5% Xandrox liquid in the medicine dropper to each of
these areas. You can use your fingertips to spread the fluid more evenly and to
lightly rub the topical Xandrox into your scalp. In solution form, it is the alcohol
that allows for penetration of minoxidil into the scalp, so massaging the scalp
has no appreciable benefit. Even though the Xandrox may not be evenly distributed
on the scalp, there is sufficient diffusion in the layers under the surface of the
skin to allow for effective total coverage. Although it is desirable to leave minoxidil
on the scalp all day before the next application, much of the absorption occurs
within the first 1 hour. If you desire to swim, blow dry, or shampoo your hair after
applying minoxidil, wait from 1½ hour to 2 hours before doing so.

A consistent, twice/day application is the most efficient manner to use topical
5% Xandrox to treat male pattern baldness. Most patients will have a satisfactory
response to 5% Xandrox (at the vertex) in 4 to 6 months. However, if after 6 months
of treatment with the liquid, you find that there are remaining areas that are poorly
responsive, you may want to consider using Xandrox15 or 5% spironolactone in addition
to 5% Xandrox solutions.

After two to three years of treatment, most patients can maintain the hair growth
with a single daily application of 5% Xandrox. It is unlikely that you will recruit
any more hair follicles to restore a thicker hair shaft unless you take more aggressive
measures with either Xandrox15 or the additional use of 5% spironolactone or both.

Warnings:
Initial Shedding: Topical Xandrox can cause an initial mild increase in shedding.
However, it's important to realize that the sustained use of topical minoxidil will
result in an improvement in the number and quality of the hairs on your scalp.

Minoxidil allows hair that is already in the telogen phase to shed. Normally, the
hair shaft sheds at the end of the telogen phase. 10% of normal hair is in the
telogen phase, but in areas affected by male pattern baldness up to 20% of thinning, miniaturized
follicles are in the telogen phase. This is why minoxidil induced shedding may appear
so dramatic when it affects thinning hair. The hair shafts, which are shed, will
be replaced at the end of the telogen phase with healthier hair. On the other hand,
untreated male pattern baldness will result in progressive miniaturization of the hair follicles.

Tolerance:
There are misconceptions about minoxidil and 'tolerance'. Minoxidil will help to
recruit atrophic follicles to grow thicker hair again for about two years (sometimes
as long as three years). Beyond that time, it continues to help keep the hair in
the anagen phase, so the new hair has a longer anagen phase.

But, because most patients do not see any significant continued improvement after
a few years, they are assuming that the minoxidil has caused a tolerance and is
no longer working. If they are unfortunately convinced to stop minoxidil treatment,
the hair that they have regrown will shed again in 3-4 months.

Side Effects: Although rare, patients who are sensitive to the minoxidil in Xandrox
can experience a rapid heart rate, a drop in blood pressure and water retention.
As a result, they may experience headaches, dizziness, chest pain and/or edema of
the ankles. If that happens, the patients should discontinue any formulas containing
minoxidil. In our experience, these side effects have occurred in less than 0.1%
of patients

azelaic acid shedding

I have been on minoxidil and propecia for 6 years and have just started on xandrox and have shed considerably for the past month and a half since starting.

These guys justify the shed because of the minoxidil but i have been using it for so many years. so i must be because of the azelaic. But again they don't excuse the azelaic acid causing the shedding.

Why would azelaic cause shedding?

Guys its as simple as looking at the ingredients list. This site should have enough info on it to make you smarter than the average consumer, and know what ingredients to look for and not look for, and exactly what each is capable of (and not capable of) doing.

This product is nothing more than vitamins and supplements. Hair loss is not a nutritional deficiency related condition so these products will do little more than improve the health and appearance of your hair. They may work fine for that but you can probably get them cheaper at the grocery store. It is completely illegal for the people on that web site to be claiming it can regrow hair. That is false and deceptive marketing and they are just trying to get rich off of people's lack of education on the true causes of hair loss.
