Hello.

I would like to know if i should use Minoxidil to try and regrow my hairline just at the temples/ corners.

I am 24 nearly 25 and i have been on finisteride for 1 year and 7 months, since starting finasteride i have not noticed my hair get better or worse it has just stayed the same. i also use Nizoral 4-5 times a week.

I would be happy if minoxidil could regrow so of the hair i have lost in the temple region.

If i was to use i was thinking of using Kirkland minoxidil

here is a few pictures

thanks Timi,

This is what i was afraid of, i have seen some good sucess pictures from people using minoxidil on the hairline but i am afraid that if i start it will make things worse.

Why is it that Minoxidil is ment to regrow hair but can make things worse?

Oh, so maybe it could regrow, do you think if i tried it for 6 months and then stoped using, would my hair be any worse?

Thanks

Dude, use minoxidil. Timi had some strange side effects that most people never have.

I have been using minoxidil with some moderate success. Every major success story uses minoxidil. I have no side effects and neither do most people.

I'd have to agree with Timi here. My review of minoxidil matches his.

You are both outliers. None of your affects were seen in the scientific studies and very, very few people ever ever complain of any sort of sides from minoxidil.

Ok now I am confused haha, I think I might giv it a try, should I expect my hairline to get worse before it gets better?

Have used different brands of minoxidil for years, the only side effect is to keep my hair, finasteride does not work for me at all. You can surely try it, and as written on the instruction, you can drop it if it does not help you after 4 months of use, or have side effects!

Most people don't have a shed, but a sizeable minority do. I never had a hairline shed from minoxidil, just new hairs started to grow.

The best available scientific evidence seems to indicate that topical minoxidil doesn't really interfere with the fundamental balding process. It does grow a little hair after you first start using it, but that doesn't last forever. After a while, you continue going bald at about the same general rate. For that reason, I think it's a very bad idea to use topical minoxidil alone, without the help of something else along with it (like Propecia) which _does_ interfere with the fundamental balding process.

I have been on finasteride for and year and 7 months, so i think i might start minoxidil to thicken the corners of my hairline, no male pattern baldness in the centre it has receded from my teen hairline but it is definetly not receeding now.

Any preference with minoxidil, i am thinking out using kirkland, will this be ok?

Thanks

Excellent! You're doing just as I suggested, so you should do fine! :)

You see a lot of talk nowadays about the "foam" version of Rogaine, but I personally haven't seen any studies comparing it with the regular liquid version. I believe Kirkland is the same as regular liquid Rogaine, so I think it'll be fine for you. Good luck!

Hi Tom mate, just discovered this thread and im in the same boat as you. I have been on finasteride since oct 08 and have maintained nicely which i do realise is success as I haven't got any worse but i would love to have some temple regrowth and also thickening of my forelock area as these areas are more diffuse than the other areas of my hair which is still generally thick *touch wood* all over. Have you started minoxidil yet? I have some Kirkland on order so it could be worthwhile comparing resuts?
