Should I use Nizoral daily or how many times per week?

Also any other recommended shampoos or conditioners?

Alternate shampoos, nizoral shouldn't be used frequently or be left on the scalp for more than 6-8minutes. The point of Nizoral is to reduce Seborrhoeic dermatitis, it will do nothing regarding DHT.

From personal experience i'd say 2x a week is fine and many agree with me, using it daily would be too much imo.

^ T/Gel PTO, Sebiprox, BodyShop Ginger Shampoo, BiovaxMed, Regenepure, T/Gel Tar, etc. A Tea Tree based one without SLS would be great.

I use it 5 times a week. I use head and shoulders the other 2 days. nizoral does wonder for my oily scalp (especially on my temples)

Should I alternate between shampoos every 2 weeks (apart from nizoral) or what is recommended?

I am looking for a shampoo that will really stimulate my scalp.

If you wash your hair three times a week use nizoral one day, a soothing no SLS shampoo the other and T/Gel or whatever else the third day. I had bad sides from using too often the same harsh shampoo (red pimples, increase in itchiness...). Also try to use a couple oils. This should take care most of seborrhea issues.

I had bad experiences using this nearly every day for a month years back, felt like my hair was fried. These guys are correct, Nizoral is best 1-2 times per week depending on how often you wash your hair.

Using it every day will in no way shape or form help you. It will harm your scalp and strip your hair!

yeah, I noticed if I leave it in for longer than 10 minutes it will dry it bad, I only use nizoral 2 percent 3 times a week, the other days I use T sal acid shampoo, and BodyShop Ginger Shampoo

thanks did u have good results with t sal acid shampoo and body shop ginger shampoo?

They won't regrow hair but they are less harsh on your hair, nizoral for some reason it makes my hair fall out after I use it. I think cause it dries the hair. I use the pink 2 percent Nizoral not the 1 percent. 1 percent seems less powerful and I don';t get the shedding. The T sal will remove the dead skin so its really good and its good against acne too.

the Body Shop ginger shampoo is my favorite, I think its the best shampoo for all hair, it makes the hair so soft and not over drying and its an anti dandruff shampoo. If I never had shedding hair I would use the ginger shampoo and the T sal shampoo/salcilyc acid

Reports suggest otherwise.

Ketoconazole is a well known anti androgen, albeit very mild.

If you get the cream it will work, the Shampoo is so mild, and it actually makes me shed more I think it dries the hair out pretty bad when I use it. But I only use it cause of the studies suggesting it helps.

But isn;t the study done with the cream Keto and not shampoo? the cream left on for hours has more time to really get into the hair follicles. Shampoo for 5 to 10 minutes in the shower seems like not enough time to really have a major effect.

I started to use nizoral 2% everyday and leaving it on for 10-12 minutes before rinsing. After 4 days, I got the worst cardiac arrhythmia ever. My heart nearly STOPPED. I went to ER.
Maybe I overdosed?

Be careful, it is a strong drug.

Personally I dont think it matters either way. I think people really go into these shampoos as explanations of why they lose hair kind of how we use religion to explain things science cant yet. Honestly guys with no male pattern baldness could string hair into tight braids and wash their hair with soap for years and not lose hair. Its not anything really with how you wash it. If you have seb derm though or something I guess though it might but not under normal circumstances.
