Since none of the major hair replacement companies or salons offer it, I am very skeptical if it's a real "thing", and not just an advertising gimmick.

Do you mean silk top?
If so, I saw a woman's wig which had a v7eryrealistic scalp look using this technique...base is however thicker. ..
Completely different base type than conventional mens hairpieces but it exists...I would think it would be better for a full cap wig type as oposed to a glued hairpiece

Yes, it is a real thing, I have seen one too. Quite clever actually, if it is the same thing. You have a lace base with hairs knotted on it in the usual way, and then on top of that is the scalp-coloured "silk" fabric (I doubt it really is silk) with the hairs coming out of it. The point is that the knots are invisible, sandwiched underneath the silk. The unit I saw was a man's hairpiece, with a plain lace front but the rest of the base made in this double layer construction. It looked really good. The only thing is it would be hot because of the double layer of fabric.

That silk base is definitely awesome.

Sorry to ask this, but has anyone tried ordering from Newtimes Hair? Are there toupees of good quality? They seem to offer it at lower prices like $85 each for a purchase of 3, exclusive of shipping fee.
Thank you for your answer.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but that price sounds too good to be true. Or at least too good to be wearable.

You're right Noah. Too good to be true. I am thinking that it might be a scam. Plus could not find any review of them anywhere. Better be careful when encountering like this.

Where did you see 85 for 3?
There is no pricing on their website ...you need to contact them to get quote. Different types, bases, etc different price.
They have Skype, so you can ask to see a stock piece. Also PayPal, so some protection there...(I did get refunds for scams using PayPal resolution system). Their website seems legit.

I have not used them specifically but have purchased directly to Chinese companies in the past, cheaper, 100us, and did not see much of a difference with US or Canadian resellers....most pieces are from that city, Quingdao...

Hi AxC123. Sorry for late reply and for the confusion caused. What i mean by $85 USD is you can get the hair piece for $85 USD provided you buy at least 3. So the total amount you'll be paying is 85x3=$255 USD plus shipping cost. If you only purchace 1 hair system they will charge you for $150 or $160 if im not mistaken, all inclusive of shipping cost.

Hope i have made myself clear. I have reviewed my first post and it was indeed confusing. Sorry man my bad.

If you dont mind, could you recommend any suppliers from Qingdao? Or maybe your current supplier? (as youve mentioned you purchased from Chinese supplier from the past) Any recommendations are highly appreciated. Have a good day

No worries and thanks for clarifying

I purchased once before from
Hair nature
https://www.hairnature.com/home.html#
A lace unit and thin skin. Much cheaper but due to distance language barrier, return policy, etc..I prefer to deal with north America suppliers ( or should I say resellers)
Currently using superhairpieces and I did try northwestlace for a custom piece.

What do u think about silk base toupee
Hi Onur!

Silk base toupees are high quality wigs that provide better ventilation than other lace based toupees. Silk toupee knots are 100% invisible that gives the illusion that hair is actually growing out of the scalp. Silk toupee designs can be divided into two types, double silk top and single silk top.

Double silk toupee is used for men’s hair. After knotting the hair and lace material, both the longer and the return hair are injected into a layer of silk. Not a single hair is left under the silk top. In this technique, it appears that hair are growing out of the scalp naturally.

Single silk toupee is most commonly used by women for long hair. Silk mono imitates human scalp. After knotting air to the lace material, long hair are then injected to the silk mono. Very short hair are covered by the silk top. This is the reason that a silk toupee looks phenomenal.

I got this info from lordhair. Here is their customer’s review about women silk toupee.

You can visit their website for further information on silk toupees. I am sharing the link below.
