Sixteen Year Old Back Eight Years Later

Hello

So my last posted on here when I was 16, worried that I was receding! I am now 24.

Over the past 8 years I've always known that I would eventually go bald but up until 6 months ago it was a slow recession.

But things have gone so aggressive and I'm literally heading for a nw6/7!! I just can't believe how quickly it's gone in such a small amount of time. A year ago I had a decent head of hair.

It this definitely male pattern baldness?? Just seems crazy the rate it's gone over the past 6 months.

See the pics. One of them is from 11 months ago. The rest are recent . I know the lighting is harsh but still.

When I shave it down people don't notice and everyone is like why have you shaved your head?!

Go to the doctor, get your thyroid checked, etc if everything fine maybe get a biopsy done to confirm male pattern baldness.

If you're a diffuse thinner a buzz cut emphasizes that you're balding. This is probably the case. Why not try Finasteride?

Why do you look severely balding in the shaved head pics and a full nw1 in the long hair pic.. aren't they just 11 months apart?

Yes 11 months. I wasn't a norwood 1. I was receding bad but without the thinning. always had a long fringe and brushed it across. But this is what I don't get. It's literally all thinned out in 11 months. Obviously the lighting is harsh.

Ok, didn't see the picture with long hair.

You're not balding.

Go out and enjoy your privilege.

It really shows that pretty much anyone will look like they're balding (or even completely bald) if they shave their head and stand under harsh lights.

Thank you for this, that will allow me not to feel so down every time a fluorescent light is raping my scalp.

The long hair was a year ago. My hair isn't in the same shape now. Which is why shaved it.

So you're balding and complaining about how fast it's going. But you stated you "will never ever touch finasteride". What is it you want from us?

I want to know if it's normal male pattern baldness for it to go so fast ?

that is really a big change in a year man, if you do decide to take finasteride PLEASE contemplate sooner rather than later, because if that was all lost in a year, you would have huge progress on finasteride imo prob regain most of it back.. BUT it isvery unlikely that strict male pattern baldness made you lose all that in a year.

I know it's hard to believe but what would be the other causes? I went to the doctors and they did a full blood count which showed nothing. It does run in my family but it just seems so aggressive doesn't it.

It can be agressive and go downhill fast, I've seen it happen before. Did your doctor check your scalp? It's very unlikely but there's a chance it is some kind of infection.
