Sleep Problems With finasteride?

I am 19 years old and have been on finasteride for about a month now with not many sides. The only ones i have had have been just little things. I noticed that my nipples are a little puffy which concerns me a little bc i dont want to get man boobs so im hoping that it will go away once my body fully adjusts to the medication. I have a Norwood 1 maybe 1.5 but noticeable thinning in the front. Right now I'm just hoping to thicken up my front and keep the hair i have. To the point now. I noticed pretty much right away that i have not been sleeping nearly as long as i used to. It is a struggle to sleep 8 hours now for me. I used to be able to sleep 8-10 hours easily without waking up ever. Since taking finasteride i have only been able to sleep from 5-6 hours and then i wake up and usually cant get back to sleep. Could this be from taking finasteride?

Off subject but i am just getting into college now and im planning on taking Ritalin for my ADD. Is it ok to take finasteride and Ritalin at the same time? Any info would be great thanks a ton.

haha ya that has been a means of falling asleep. Although i really dont have trouble falling asleep.. its just saying asleep

I was a bad sleeper before finasteride, I stopped smoking weed a few months ago so I cant blame the finasteride right now

There shouldn't be any reaction between Ritalin and Propecia, but always check with a doctor or pharmacist.

With Ritalin, I would be more concerned that it could make your sleep worse, since its a stimulant.

With Propecia, do you take it in the morning or at night? It does possibly affect some chemicals in the brain, to what extent I am not sure, so it could alter your sleep cycle in some way, I honestly don't know.

Some people say finasteride makes them more tired, so maybe you should consider taking it at night, it might help you sleep better. Of course, there are rumors its more effective for hair, to take in the morning, I am not sure how true this is.

Ya i usually dont take ritalin past like 6 pm cuz it wont let u go to sleep no matter what. I take finasteride in the morning cuz i just find it easiest then. I feel like maybe the sleep problem is going away. i have been sleeping a lil better now. So i think ill just see if it gets better with time.
