My hairloss is getting worse even with propecia and rogaine foam. I'm rapidly approaching NW5. What am I doing wrong? What else should I do?

I've been using rogaine for over a year and started Propecia about 8 months ago. At what point should I stop pumping money into these drugs? I'm still losing my hair!

Also, about a week ago I got a sunburn on my scalp while golfing. The sunburn was worse in places where I've lost more hair and the skin is more sensitive to the sun. This shows the rapid speed of my hairloss since my scalp last saw the sun.

Baldkarma:

You should use Nizoral 1-2% Shampoo 3x a week or Revita Shampoo 5x a week. Along with switching to Dutasteride, also when you're out in the sun wear a cap or something to cover the scalp.

If I were at your stages of hair-loss, I'd being using the most potent treatments available.

Thanks Plusryan, that's helpful info. I usually do wear a hat but it was an overcast day in April and I figured I would be alright. I won't make that mistake again.

well if it was me, i'd throw the kitchen sink at it for a few months, if you can afford it.

dutasteride, fluridil, minoxidil, tricomin, msm, apple poly, revita+nizoral, f*****g scalp exercises, biotin, green tea, healthy diet+exercise, even finasteride as well - some people reported positive stuff when mixing dutasteride + finasteride.

but that's crazy expensive..

have you been to a derm/doctor? maybe something else is contributing to your loss in addition to standard male pattern baldness?

I'm going to a derm to make sure there's nothing else going on. I'm also getting ready to add nizoral and I'm going to talk to my regular Doctor about dutasteride. If there's one thing I have right now it's money. I'm willing to throw as much of that as possible at my hair!

Hmm, I think that at this stage shampoo's will do very little as a nw4/5 there's not much ontop to wash. :( Internals are probably your best weapon but to be honest you are a young guy with an agressive case and the fact is these meds/treatments are not guaranteed to work, some people are good responders and some are non responders. Still stick with them for another 6months maybe they will manage to halt the loss although it does'nt seem that they are stopping it much at the moment. I know what your going through man good luck.
