I am using professional dermatological shampoos: Nizoral and Ducray's (one of the top EU's french dermatological products manufacturer) Anaphase.
Both contain SLS.
Ok, I could get a natural shampoo without any chemicals from my local BIO shop...
So, the Anaphase Shampo which is highly recommended by dermatologists contains:
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Coco-Clucoside, Disodium Laureth Sulfasuccinate, Ceteareth-60 Myristyl Glycol, Artemia Extract, Biotin, Citric Acid, Fragrance, Glycol Palmitate, Glycol Stearate, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, Pyridoxine HCL, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Propylparaben, Tocopheryl Nicotinate, Yellow 6 (CI 15986).
And my Nizoral (made in Belgium) contains (see image pls)
So, what to do? Any other ideas please, opinions? I mean this is serious and could be useful for everybody who's using minoxidil.
There are alot of shampoos out there without SLS and the one I recently switched to after using Nizoral 1% for over 6 years is Regenepure. Decent ingredients without the SLS, see below..
KETOCONAZOLE
Prevents and treats fungal infections of the skin, eliminates dandruff and makes hair look and feel thicker. Recent studies suggest that its anti-inflammatory properties can mend skin damage caused by male pattern alopecia, disrupt the production of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) and may even have a stimulating effect on hair growth.
SERENOA SERRULATA (SAW PALMETTO) EXTRACT
Used for its medicinal properties for centuries, Saw Palmetto extract is currently common in the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy, erectile dysfunction and low sperm counts. Recent studies suggest that it may have potential as a treatment for male pattern baldness, and it has been medically approved for that purpose in Europe.
EMU OIL
An anti-inflammatory natural tissue nutrient, full of healthy omega oils that moisturize deeply, healing and rejuvenating the skin. A recent Boston University study found that emu oil “remarkably†increased the thickness of the scalp skin and awakened dormant hair follicles.
NIACIN VITAMIN B3
Promotes healthy scalp circulation and is one of the top nutritional supplements recommended for the prevention of hair loss.
CAFFEINE
Helps to stimulate the scalp and is easily absorbed by the skin. Studies have shown that it can control the effect of testosterone on the scalp, significantly increasing the growth and life cycle of hair.
PYRIDOXINE HCL (VITAMIN B6)
Shown to help inhibit the conversion of testosterone to DHT in the skin.
L-PATHENOL
Improves hair shine and moisturizes the scalp with Vitamin B5. Studies suggest that it may have additional anti-inflammatory properties.
LINOLENIC ACID
An important antioxidant that helps to stimulate the capillaries that carry blood to the hair follicles and minimizes free radical damage.
SIMMONDSIA CHINESIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL
Chemically similar to the natural oils of the scalp, jojoba helps to replace essential oils that shampoo cleansers typically remove.
ZINC OXIDE
Protects the scalp and has been clinically shown to help block the formation of DHT in the skin.
