People have been saying for months that SM is a failure on the basis that they never completed the second trial.
I consider SM as very potential treatment. Of course I wanted more than 10% of regrowth, but I think even 10% in 3 month is great + it's not a daily application and maintains hair (y)

But it's a separate mechanism that could have synergy with minoxidil, and only half of minoxidil users are responders.

Their last trial actually says completed now. For the longest time even though it was supposed to end in April it still did not say the study was completed. I'm assuming we will be hearing very soon about if they are moving on or not.

Bimatoprost showed around the same results as minoxidil.. What did the mega billionaire company Allergan say immediately? Simple. They ain't going to move forward with the stuff if it can't outperform minoxidil significantly.
Look these companies are certainly not going to release this stuff for you. They are only going to release it if their %ROI will be good enough and they can compete. That's all they care about.

We don't know what the data looks like after 3 months though . Idk why they aren't looking at longer, but I'm assuming their looking at the skin biopsy to see if there's any more activity regarding the formation of new hair? I think there was an increase of new hair even after stopping treatment and it maintained if I'm not mistaken. Things that minoxidil and bim dont do. It may be nothing but the good thing I think we'll find out real soon if they'll be moving on or not, and i don't think we should write them off until then.

it's tough to say what will happen with sm04554. We know wnt activation is directly linked in the hair growth cycle. that being said while 10% is not the holy grail we've all been desperately yearning for (c'mon Tsuji dont let us down you sweet sweet japanese man), 10% in three months with sustained growth month - two months post treatment with sustained growth is impressive. Even minoxidil cant do that because we've all heard testimonials about the dreaded post minoxidil sheds. If it can create more follicles, provide better regrowth than 10%, or give 10% regrowth plus maintenance, then that's something worth developing.

No I don't. You would probably fall below baseline just like minoxidil. I don't believe the biopsies will show de-novo growth either. For me SM is a done case. I'm pretty certain of this, but we'll see.
