Ok

So ive been posting on here for a few months, especially about 3 months or so after I was on propecia. Just want to say I am at 5 1/2 months today and I finally see a little bit of thickening. I am not at all were I want to be as far density...(and I have had a little bit of the november sheds to boot) but I think Ive taken a baby step towards positive. The reason I post this is holy cow did I thin out for a few months there....propecia really does a number on your hair and your self esteem in the beginning. So I just letting you guys know hang in there that are in the 3 or 4 month stage. I am not at all where I want to be, but I have finally started to see a little bit of positive...and after months of negative....this is a very good thing. So hang in there. As you see this message has been posted by numerous users and well one more always make a reader feel more confident for success.

good to hear. i am right around the 5 month mark and keep going back and forth as to whether or not im improving. i had the same thing happen where propecia really took a big hit on my hair in the beginning. are there a lot of others out there that say they saw a lot of improvement in the end even after the tough beginning?

Hi guys, thx for posting.
I am round the 5 month mark myself... I *think* I have maintained but its so hard to tell, I have just the crown area thinning and I grew my hair out from when i (and others) originaly noticed and from when i first took my 1st pill, but its really hard to tell if ive gained/lost/maintained. I didnt really notice much unusual shedding before i started finasteride, weather this was because i have always kept my hair short, or maybe my hairloss is gradual and shedding seems minimal, or maybe i just didnt notice!? But on finasteride i havnt noticed much shedding either, so in that respect it is still hard to see if it is working.

I dont know what others do to check their hair progress, but in some lights it looks like there is no thinning atall, but in other lights and facing a different direction you can tell there is thinning (well i can at least).

My only guess as to why this is, is because the crown of my hair is one big cowslick, when i angle the mirror to look at the top of my head and the light is facing against the hair it shows the lack of density... obvious I know, but its hard to get a true respresentation of my hair, my hair density looks completely different in many different circumstances! Even if I stand facing the mirror in the bathroom smack bang underneith the bright light, if i look at the top of my head from one side, holding the mirror with my right arm, then change arms so im holding it with the left arm.. it looks alot worse when holding with the left... only a few cm difference on from each view.

Anyways, ill continue using finasteride, keep my fingers crossed for some noticable progress, it doesnt seem to be making my hair drasticly any worse, and so far yet i havnt experienced any sides, so I should be thankfull for that.
