Please forgive my grammar, I'm writing this at 7:30am after an all nighter. I feel like I'm drunk :salut:
My hair loss started at 18. I blame the anxiety and stress of school (and more importantly my horribly foolish and weak responses to the anxieties and stressors most kids go through which left me lazy addicted to short term pleasures) as well as that god-awful accutane.
Anyway it's cause seems irrelavent now. Until a tried a true cure comes onto the market I'm just accepting it. I've read up on propecia; I decided against it, I'm done with pharmaceuticals. I have enough trouble with drugs as it is, and past experiences have shown me that a lot of medications superficially cover symptoms of an underlying problem, often with nasty side effects.
Forget rogain, forget wigs, hair transplants, all that. I'm not hating on anyone here, but I know that's the path of desperate clinging for me.
So my situation is this: I'm at a 2.5 on the norwood scale. My days of having medium-length hair are numbered, it just looks like crap with the front all poofy and wiry and the sides growing obnoxiously fast. My crown is getting thinner as well. So I got it cut shorter last hair-cut, I think a one or two on the sides and a trim on top. It actually looks a lot better and my hair loss is less noticeable.
However I am really wanting to buzz it all the fudge off, clippers no guard. I have made enemies with the wind, you see, and I happen to go to a very windy college in upstate NY. Living in such a windy place while trying to hide your bald-spots it a type of hell, as you guys probably know. It's my last year too, and there's a few fly hunnies I really wanna get to know, and trying to hide my thinning scalp and receding hairline doesn't help my confidence.
Sorry this is getting so long...anyway, I go back to school in four days. I wanted to buzz my hair off this summer, but chickened out because of work (can't wear a hat in my position, god forbid it looked really bad I had no way to cover it.) I am still contemplating it, I bought a decent pair of clippers and everything, but I have one worry: Will buzzing all my hair off make it look worse? I worry that the back and sides will look fuller and darker, leaving my with that horshoe look. I'm afraid I'll jump from a very young looking college kid that draws looks from women of all ages to a 35 year old lookin guy.
I'll post pics later when I'm in better mental shape, I'm really freakin tired right now, but in general would buzzing my hair off (no guard) make things worse? Worse as in does it make the baldness more prominent? I'm going to cut it all off eventually, but at 22 I'm just not ready to look 35 yet.

So without further adue, my scalp:

The first is how I might normally style my hair (until the wind gets to it), the second is pushed around in various ways to reveal my hairline better. I am just worried buzzing it will lighten the thinned areas even more, leaving darker shadows where my hair is thicker. Or would buzzing all my hair even it out?
I know I know a lot of you would kill for as much hair as I have. I'm done with it though. I'm tired of worrying about it, but I'm not ready to look 35 yet. My current wardrobe does not fit a guy with a horshoe hairline. Also like I said it's a hassal upstate with all the wind.
