Some of us live as healthily as we did before taking finasteride, yet experienced definite side effects shortly after taking it. What really convinced me that it was real was the fact that I stopped having random erections during the day, which normally were there all the time, horny or not. I suppose if it's something like temporary lowered libido or temporary problems with erections, and it only turned up after being on finasteride for a good while, it can be harder to determine if finasteride really caused it, though.

Any statistic based on "volunteer" participation is biased. Only people on the extremes would reply, making the whole statistic pointless.

Basically, it's the same with the forums. People that have no sides or worries wouldn't be posting in the forum. Therefore, any forum would give the impression that the medicine is worse than it's supposed to be.

That doesn't mean sides do not exist. I haven't used finasteride long enough to comment on its long term effects, but I had what I would describe as minor sides. The manufacturer stresses that any side should subside in time, but I can't wait a few months for my body to function normally.

I presume your sides disappeared because you 1) took the pill long enough for your body to adjust to it, 2) you changed your lifestyle. You can't claim that your sides disappeared only because you changed your lifestyle. It's got to be the combination of both.
