So, what Norwood am I?

I'm pretty new here.. been lurking for a while and only recently signed up.
Anyhow, I am wondering what Norwood I am?

Some pics are of my hair a week or so after a grade 1, the rest is maybe a month or more and so is a bit longer but not grown out or covering any skull.

Some are pics of me with normal length short hair and show how I kind of cover up the receding hairline - I think quite successfully. But I am worried my hair loss is starting to speed up when I noticed increasingly thinning hair on the crown (not fully bald, but you can see a fair bit of scalp.

I've always had a slightly receded hairline naturally, but increasingly my forehead is transforming into a billboard. So you think I should get on the big 3? I'm on the big 2 already (Min/nizoral).

finasteride is the best treatment to combat hairloss. What age are you though and how long have you been on the big 2? maybe it needs more time.

I think your hair looks pretty solid. Its just thin. You'd be surprised what some hair wax's can do to thicken it up. Having said that your hair does appear to diffusing, but its no major biggy, you look young and buff. You got no problems picking up the ladies im sure!

I'm about to turn 24! I have been receding for about 3 years at least but very slowly and gradually. I began thinning at 19.5 years.
So you reckon I should go with finasteride for sure? I have just bought Fincar and plan on taking 1.25mg per day.. is it possible to cut it up into fifths or would it disintegrate?

Its definitely not bad for 23, but whether or not you want to go on finasteride, is up to yourself. It could most certainly help, the fact that your slowly losing ground is a positive, you may have a good chance at maintaining. The only way you will know though, is if you try. Then you will be doing all you can for hairloss, been on the big 3.

And you should be able to cut it up no problem, just do so carefully, with a pill cutter or a knife. Best of luck man

Thanks mate, positive encouragement. My crown is pretty annoying how thin it is getting but I think what bites the most is the regression of the hairline. But obviously both are problematic for anyone. I will be on finasteride within a week or so; as soon as it arrives. I will be on minoxidil/nizoral/finasteride/MSM/Biotin/Vitamin C and Zinc tablets. Hopefully can at least maintain, my hair if grown out would be just about manageable - but if I could gain any on the crown and the temples then I'd be chuffed.

If it's successful, I will do this regimen for a while, I'm so hoping some breakthrough happens in the next few years though - the sooner we can all get an easy fix to this the better.

How comes you're not on minoxidil?

I'm on minoxidil i just havent put it into my regime cause im only on it two months or so, wana see if its worth keeping up the treatment. As you probably know yourself, keep with the finasteride for 6 months and then make a judgement whether or not its making a difference.

You seem to have all the vitamin supplements for maximum benefit + it helps with your hairs condition, so theres nothing else i would suggest you add.

NW2 I think, but with thinning.

Like others have said, probably try finasteride.

On a plus side, you look good overall ( :gay: I'm not gay, honest) and suit the buzz/bald look, you remind me a bit of Freddie Ljungberg.

You have a great skull shape so don't worry about losing hair. You'd look good with a crop top or even shaved hair.

Thanks for the compliments. I think if I went for the total buzz, 1 shows my hairline up too high and 0 just may as well bic it. I wish I did have a good head shape for it - but it's amazing what the nuggin looks like from all angles. But thanks, it gives me more confidence to have that look if I need to.

At the stage I'm at, would finasteride give good results.. i.e. still be able to hide the receeding hair line through styling?

Hi.

I saw you guys mentioned Biotin.
Contains Vitamin H correct?

Which brand would you recommend?
We know there's various kinds.
