I have been taking propecia / proscar since 3/02.

I really can't remember otherwise before finasteride, but when I piss - even when I am done, if I lift up my balls / squeeze the prostate area, roughly 10-15 drops of urine come out. If I don't, it would soil my boxers with these drops.

GP says to cut Proscar 1.25 for 1 month to let the prostate "dry out" and then he will do PSA and prostate "massage" - hopefully w/ the pinky...

To complicate things, I have a right sided inguinal area hernia (right above my R pubic symphisis) that has not yet been repaired. Probably will be w/ in the next 2-3 months.

Anyone have any experience w/ this?

GP said the hernia would not cause this, but the finasteride might.

GP is a very pro-finasteride doctor.

Amazingly, my buddy that is taking 1.25 proscar also told me that he has the same problem tonight.

Any thoughts?

I think it was gourmetstylewellness.com who I was discussing this issue with a while ago. I think the generally view is that finasteride treatment can cause slight urinal incontinence due to reduced prostate size. You are taking slightly over the recommended dosage of 1mg though. Could you consider dropping your dosage to 1mg?

Possibly. You know I acutally believe that this testicular ache is acutally a radiation of prostatic pain. The reason for this is because in cases of Testicular cancer where there is clearly a direct trauma to the testes, pain is often experienced up a victims back and not in the testes at all. The same process is seen in heart attack victims suffering pain in their arms and jaws. Anyway just my theory........
