Some barbers suck...

Okay... so I walk in and tell the (Vietnamese, I guess) barber I want the sides "shortened", and not to touch the top.

So the guy takes a short clippers attachments and proceeds to give my sides and back a quarter-inch (or less) buzz cut. Then the guy, much against the waving of my hands and telling him to back off, wets the top of my hair and proceeds to cut it.

He slapped a good gob or two of gel and water and brushed my hair in a million directions, making sure to rip out as much hair as possible before cutting it.

Finally, after that whole unpleasant ordeal, he gave me a strange-*** hairdo.

Too bad he didn't speak English... I'm pretty affable with my barbers.

f****r just wouldn't understand.

Vietnameeeees hair stylist are their own special brand of terrorists. Sent to this country to wreak havok on american hairdoos effectively lowering the morale of the American populace, all the while talking sh*t in vietnameeeeeeeees.

I had a similar experience recently. I told the guy that I didn't want the army officer haircut and asked him if he could use scissors instead of clippers on the sides and back. He said, "sorry my friend, how can I cut hair without clippers?".... I told him to do whatever he wants... When I speak English I have a bit of an accent, but not too heavy. This guy didn't understand my point....

I met him in the local pub one day, he's actually a nice guy. We sort of became friends, but I wouldn't let him touch my hair again.

I tell you, I hate barbers. They pretend like they're listening to how you want your hair cut and then when you're helpless in the chair, they do whatever the f*** they want.

My advice is to date a female hairdresser. That way, you get your hair cut for free AND if they f*** it up, they're the ones who have to live with it while it grows back.

I can't believe you guys don't cut your own hair yet? :dunno:

I started cutting my own years ago. Just buy yourself a good pair of wahl clippers and buy the biggest guard you can get. Like a custom size 10. Makes the hair around 40mm long.

Easy...

Hair loss and the barbers is one thing ive always avoided in life.

But its true if your a Norwood 2-3 you can sometimes get a fairly decent cut and have it sorta short but not too bad like....

I had one 3 months back and he used scissors whole time and it looked very good and smooth as the clippers id say but still retained my hair decently.

Either way I just went for it 3 weeks ago.... shaved off the whole head, got the clippers and grade 0 and shave away. Shocking at 1st to friends and family and work.... but I leaves nothing hidden + I can just now shave it off every 2-3 weeks and it the feeling and cleaness you have afterwards cant be matched.

Sure it means its even harder to find a lovely girl or wife but even with hair loss I noticed it hard.... full head of hair the girls at least noted you lol but am sure theres aways a way;)

I just got cut my hair myself and its horrible. I feel very unatractive. I'm even thinking in not going to the office Monday if i dont get better.

The f*****g thing is my receded temples which does not allow me open book hairstyle (see the picture). More my glorius plagiocephalis is evil so the back of my head is a chaos.

What a day. Fool for lifetime. If it does not get better i'll have to go to the barber.

I don't think you're losing out on much if you can't do the "open book" hairstyle, like you call it. I had it for years (although with longer hair) and I can't stand looking at pictures from that era, that hairstyle is f*****g horrible.

Eh don't worry about it IBM, I just got a terrible haircut yesterday and I boo-hooed about it but you know how I am dealing with it?

Just don't look in the mirror.

You still got plenty of hair IBM it is not like it won't grow back out. If worse comes to worse you can just get a buzz cut, somebody might make a fuss but it is not that big of a deal. It will grow back. I'd rather have my odd haircut than this

To the OP:
Yeah that is understandable, I remember I used to go to a Vietnamese barber when I was younger and always gave me one weird chili-bowl haircut.

Hey, that's not me. The guy is coach of Sporting Lisbon who is a joke because of his hairstyle. I like that style and the only that suites me.

I dont think so. The style works if you're NW1.

I let my mother or neighbour cut it. I know it's kind of nerd, but at least I can feel relaxed about my wishes and let it be cut with my own special comb. The haircuts haven't been that horrible. I'm just afraid of the barber's dense comb.

That's 90s hair style dude...no wonder why girls don't talk to you. If you're NW1 & NW2 there are many *current* hairstyles you can go for!

Looks gay for a man of his age... it gives the message that he wants to be 20-something again. It's like seeing a 70 yr old on a skateboard, it just doesn't look right.

Lovely! Thanks for using my signature line-- "Drunk as f***."

It's still a bit early for drinking, right??

Edit: Nevermind. Looks like it's 12:33am, according to Google.
