Coming up on 4 months with Finasteride 1mg daily (took finasteride alone for 2 years previously) and Dutasteride 0.5mg weekly. Also noticed a slight shed near front but I was shedding before all over, which is why I wanted to try dutasteride, so I'm not pointing fingers.

Gonna wait it out for a few more months. I started taking topical spironolactone too to possibly combat the "rising testosterone".

How is your situation @Pephair ?

Had to stop the Dutasteride. Had frontal shedding. Like literally a line down the middle, very weird hair loss. Also had a brain fog which would of been tolerable if I was regaining hairground, but overall with the loss in the front, not worth it.

Back to 1mg daily finasteride. After a month it slowly started regrowing and is still regrowing.

Hoping for something to come out in the next couple years. Cause I'm still slowly losing ground, but finasteride is definitely helping fight the battle.

Hey guys! Decided to make an account to share my experience. I am a 22 year old male from USA who has been taking prescription Finasteride 1mg for two years along with Rogaine 2x daily and washing and conditioning with Regenepure products. I FELT like my hair reached and plateau; was either staying the same, losing it, or just wanted better results. I went to my dermatologist to have her perscribe me Dutasteride but she could not because the doctor she worked under did not feel comfortable because it wasn't FDA approved for AA. I searched all over and finally found a doctor and he prescribed me .5mg Dutasteride off-lable. Okay so now this is where it gets tough... I stopped taking finasteride and started taking Dutasteride for about 3 weeks. I kind of freaked out because my hair line started to itch and felt like it was thinning again... when I started reading reviews I saw many guys were experiencing the same thing! So I stopped and reverted back to my finasteride and been taking again for a little over a month... I didn't entirely give up the dutasteride. I have been taking once every Wednesday instead and as of like 3 days ago after using a deep conditioner (Palmers Olive oil deep conditioner $1.25 packet at Target), it dried and suddenly I'm like wondering if it is working but I'm not quite sure. hair just seems thicker! I am posting a picture of what it looks like now and will continue to update as the months go on with my experience using dutasteride once a week along with finasteride. I know how emotional hair loss is. I feel it 1000 percent. Top 3 pics are from last 24 hrs. 2 of pics hair is sort of damp and unbrushed. bottom pic is start of finasteride treatment ONLY Aug 2016 and then updste is right pic Feb 2017

Sorry the pictures in the doctor's office are before and after finasteride, but your pictures in your bathroom in your shorts are you at the moment?

I'm in a similar position, taking finasteride for 2 years, swapping to duta.

I’m updating here in March. I’ve still been taking the Dutasteride ONCE weekly, Finasteride daily, and applying Rogaine 2x a day. I honestly feel like it’s working and my hair has improved adding the Dutasteride ONCE weekly. I must say though that my sex drive is 98% gone. When I started the medication, I also experienced headaches. However it is hard to say if these side effects are from the medication or other factors. If you can find and convince a doctor to let you on this regimen, do it.
