I'm not trying to be an ***, but I've literally seen the same questions posted multiple times on the same day. Can't people be forced to read and learn something before they are allowed to actually post? Maybe be quizzed before entering? I understand hairloss is frustrating and scary to people, but it's almost just as frustrating to log into this forum and see the same questions over and over again by people who claim that they "have been reading this forum for months and just decided to post." Well assclown, if you've been reading this forum for months then you should already know that minoxidil works all over the f*****g scalp!" etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Sorry, just venting.

Someone with spare time need to create a FAQ in each Treatment Section:

1 - Finasteride FAQ;
2 - Minoxidil FAQ;
3 - Dutasteride FAQ;
4 - Shedding FAQ;
5 - MSM, Biotin, GSE & GTE FAQ;
6 - Spironolactone FAQ

etc....

FAQs are a great idea. I'm a newbie myself, and I've found it's hard to get all the information, even when I've read all the threads on the first page of each forum.

Doesn't matter...people won't click it. We have had them before...

The fact is most people are lazy.

Most people here don't even realize the forum is a minor part of the greater site of http://www.gourmetstylewellness.com.

Ban them or berate them if they post without reading the FAQ, or something like that. I've seen it work on other forums.

Is establishing a FAQ section for the purpose of assisting people with finding overseas drugs, creating a treatment regimen, or finding information about certain treatments that may not be sourced properly even a good idea?

I mean, could it leave this site open to the possibility of being sued?

As far as I know, there isn't an actual medically licensed professional on these forums that would have the credentials to actually write a FAQ, but I could be wrong.

docj077, what are you talking about?
I dont think it is illegal to write down a FAQ telling people some basics of hair loss treatment. If you have any doubt, just write down in the beginning stating it is someones PERSONAL opinion and no one should follow it without going see doctor first. Do you prefer that some newbies buy and spend hundreds on products that doesnt work at all? That happens with a large number of guys before they get here and learn what are their best options. A FAQ would sumarize it all, provide a quicker way of them learning some basics, and filter the forum of those questions being asked over and over again.

If the answer is on the FAQ we put the link instead of explain over and over again.

You're right, the first thing I did when I found this site is read what gourmetstylewellness.com had to say about balding in general. People miss out on great info, the site even categorizes stuff as if you are male, female etc. What type of balding, the steps to follow, the proven treatments etc.

People should read all of that before even posting.

I agree with IBM. I'm obviously a newbie and I have asked the same questions as other newbies. I feel that the onset of panic in a newbie creates a desire to try and get answers as fast as possible. This forum is great. Unfortunately it isn't organized optimally and simple answers are buried a bit. I think these reasons put together make a newbie post before a complete search has been made. However, I think if you can make stickies pertaining to the most obvious newbie questions with newbie type headlines you would see a reduction in the amount of similar posts, IMO.

re:

It is very annoying when people come to this site and post the same questions that usually have either been answered a number of times in the forum section or are answered on the main page. Most of this is just the reality we deal with in the internet world of instant gratification. People just don't have the respect to figure things out for themselves and prefer the easy way out. I don't really know if there is a solution to end this problem, I think we should just leave it to the moderators to answer the really basic questions and/or berate people who come to the site and ask questions when they clearly have not even spent a minute to research the topic on their own. However, I find myself trying to help Newbs because I know how tough it is on many men when they first realize they are losing hair.
Doctor, I have no idea what you are talking about. This Site does not promote itself as having any medical association, it is just an information forum. Not to mention, the people with the degrees (the derms) usually seem to have no idea what the hell they are talking about on this subject. If what is posted in three FAQ is incorrect or based on opinion, then it will be slammed on the forum.
