Hey Joan, happy weekend angel.

I have been working on setting up a copyright for the lyrics. It's quite a complex tedious process to set-up the page for someone to put their material on. There are all kinds of boxes you have to check and stuff like that. And it's easy to make mistakes and then you get frustrated and have to start over. And I'm an active person with a lot going on so it took awhile to do it and get it right.

I finally have the copyright page set up but the actual lyrics need to be uploaded.

I have hired a company that will be uploading the two song lyrics on Monday or Tuesday when the appropriate employee (who can do it) gets back to work.

It took me 3 weeks to write the two songs and 5 weeks to get the copyright page set-up. If I sell even just one song the first thing I'm going to do is hire a copyright attorney.

Anyway, I will copyright it next week, send the lyrics to that band next week, and then at the end of next week I'll post the two songs.

It really started out as one song. What happened is that I saw where a specific nation is persecuting gay people so I decided to write a gay song about that country to kind of poke that country in the eye. I then decided to also make a straight version of the same song. The Rolling Stones did something similar when they first wrote "Honky Tonk Woman" and then wrote a countrified version of the same song and called it "Country Honk".

Joan, the reason I haven't posted them yet is because I want to be sure they're copyrighted first. I would be very upset if someone robbed my lyrics. I would get lawyers and press criminal charges and stuff like that. I have to be sure that the copyright is in place perfectly before I publicize my lyrics.

Because initially I thought it would be easy but then when I started doing it I discovered it's highly technical and if it's not done right the copyright won't be lawful. That's why serious applicants have experienced lawyers do this for them. I had to do a lot of research into it. There were probably 40 or so boxes that had to be checked and numerous exact things that had to be written in, in order to set up the page correctly. It was the first time I've done it.
