So I havent been around lately...I have been using spironolactone and Revivogen for the last month and a half or two. My right temple is showing no progress and looks worse than ever.

I might get on the foam now. But I felt alot better being away from this site. But I looked in the mirror today and My right temple makes me feel horrible.

DOES spironolactone EVEN DO ANYTHING?????

Hi Jm0311,

I've been using spironolactone since Sept 2006 on my hairline and temples and I have not had any further recession. I think it is helping. However, I have not had any regrowth. Yeah, regrowth is always a plus but if I can keep what I got then I'm fine with that.

I personally don't think using spironolactone for the time you have is not long enough. Just keep up with it and reassess whether you think it has made any difference when you come up to the 6-7 month mark.

Hope this helps!

yes perhaps i should have started treatment earlier...I really dont wanna add minoxidil and have my good hair be dependent on it...I dont know how that all works..

Im just gonna keep at it, my temple makes me angry though.....lol

You are misunderstanding some things.

With any of these treatments, whether it be spironolactone, minoxidil, finasteride, etc -- your hair becomes dependent upon it if it is an area that has been indeed thinning. So if you the hair loss halts and/or regrows, you will eventually lose that hair in a matter of months. So for instance, if your hair loss halts and/or regrows due to spironolactone, than that means your temples are dependent upon it now (if you plan on keeping it).

And as the other poster said, you have to give it more time. One month and some change is really too premature to be expecting significant or even any results.

hey i think you have a level head . . ever think of using finasteride

Level head? You ought to read his past posts. JM0311 needs to stay far away from finasteride.
