Hi,

Has anyone else developed whooshing sounds in the ears (pulsatile tinnitus, heartbeat sound in ears, etc) after using topical spironolactone? I started using it about 6 months ago and it has really regrowth my crown better than any other topical I have tried, but about 4 months ago I developed a heartbeat whooshing in my right ear that is driving me mad. I haven't changed anything else in my lifestyle except starting this s5 cream so I wanted to check if I am alone in this or if anyone else has had a similar experience. I have read that oral aldactone can cause such things but I thought topical where not absorbed enough to have such a powerful systematic effect?

Thanks,

Billy

Placebo? I believed spironolactone had no side effects and have only made a possible connection between spironolactone and the venous tinnitus after 4 months of searching (looked at my diet, exercise, stress levels, caffeine intake, etc) and have been left with the options that the very real whooshing sound (the sound is caused by a blood flow irregularities in the right hand side external jugular vein) is a side effect of my use of spironolactone, or its just totally random and coincided with starting spironolactone. I can't see how that fits into the placebo category. Can you expand on your suggestion?

Thanks,
Billy

Unless its oral the spironolactone is harmless.....Could occur some scalp irritation but non of the ear things
Try a doctor coz this is not something anyone can confirm without any physical examination....Good luck and a happy new year

I had something like this happen to me around the time I started spironolactone and Revivogen together. I started a thread here asking if this was a possible side. It went away anyway and I'm 6 months in now with no side effects at all. I recently started RU too so I dunno if I'll continue using them.

Iopu- have you had any success with spironolactone in your 6 months of using it? I'm thinking about using it on the hairline but there's like no reports on it. I know ppl use it but I haven't seen much feed back. Thanks.
