I'm adding spironolactone to my regimen, as soon as Dr Lee processes my forms and stuff. finasteride is doing a good job for everything except my frontline, which seems to be thinning a little.

Thanks for your guys input

I know I may have had several posts regarding treatments and such but I am trying to stick with 1.

I apply it at night after showers to my temples and the hairs right by the temples, light (almost invisible film)

I rub it in gently. I keep my hair cut short as well

I then wait 30 mins and do kirkland or foam

So it's just a spironolactone/minoxidil combo then, no finasteride? Re: rapid temple loss - any chance it's a minoxidil shed? How do the timescales stack up for that as a possible?

Over to you....

Tricomin CP's have done wonders for me the past few weeks - I'm a believer. You might want to try that as an added topical... although in general, aside from minoxidil I'm wary of topicals being effective on their own without something like finasteride or dutasteride putting out the DHT fire systemically.

Thanks for the responses. Idk if its a minoxidil shed...i have been on it for awhile without a major shed....(idk if I ever really had a shed at all)

It really started probably 2 months after the spironolactone cream regular use. although, I have added kirkland liquid and use that like 2x a week at night

is that bad to mix liquid and foam?

you are correct, no finasteride.

Well I've used finasteride for about a year, and its worked for me, but with CP's tossed into the mix my shedding has gone from mild to almost nonexistent. This is just my interpretation, but I believe that the hairloss process is pretty bad for overall scalp health, and even if you have finasteride to lower DHT and Nizoral to eliminate inflammation, the scalp still probably isn't in the best shape to promote hair growth. I think the CP's work to 'turn back the clock'... I'm not sure exactly how, but I think this is why many report their gray hairs coming back dark after they use CP's. Also, since it works to shorten the resting phase of follicles, it promotes activity of collagens and proteins that keep the scalp healthy. :dunno:

I've been using it 1x a day, 5x a week. I use it about 20 mins after I take a shower, except on days I use Nizoral (which is 2x a week).

same for me got great results from Cp as well. I am taking the serum from Folligen. No spray, just mixing it up with minoxidil . This stuff is stronger than any spray form of CP for hair and does the job better than the Tricomin that I tried before.

So, you just pour the folligen into the minoxidil and it mixes fine? does it not turn your scalp green?

Squeegee, if I may bombard you with questions: How much Folligen do you add to the minoxidil? is it one application a day or two? and for how long have you been doing this? Also Petchsky's two apropos how well they mix and the whole green hair issue.

Details, we demand details. Please.

Jm, as far as I know there's no problem with using both liquid and foam versions of minoxidil.

Is it shedding or the acceleration of male pattern baldness? Timing with addition of spironolactone might suggest a link, but I've not heard of a spironolactone-induced shed. No internals makes yours a damned hard fight; in your shoes I'd be giving that RU stuff some careful consideration.

Hi

Thanks for the responses.
I never heard of RU. Can you give a brief explanation, or link?

I am going to research it..

Anyone else use spironolactone?

How is finasteride working for you?

I did a search and found that Squeegee addressed this in another post. Here's what he wrote:

No shed, the scalp doesn't turn green because you don't need a lot of the serum, 1 or 2 drop. I mix it with 1 ml minoxidil in a shot glass lol! Use the minoxidil dropper and put the mix on my head. The serum bottle will last forever and really effective BTW. My hair just go thicker and thicker and all the blond vellus hair started to get darker also. I will probably buy the Xandrox 15% + to get better and faster results to replace minoxidil 5% and still use the serum. This thing is the sh*t!

*Take note, he is NOT using Folligen. He is using the Super CP Serum which is designed for use on wrinkles and not hair*
