Is it even that effective ? Anyone who use it find it causes a shed ? I've yet to see a study on spironolactone cream results ..

Only reason why I ask these questions is because I'll be without ru for 3 weeks and need to use some kind of topical AR blocker.

Thanks

Ive used it along with finasteride. And solo and currently along with fluridil (off finasteride now). And all I can say is that it is hard to really gauge effectiveness. It is an antiandrogen that has some merit in reducing T and DHT levels in the scalp. So using it will be better than using nothing at all, thats my mentality.

However, I am currently trying to obtain some RU. I have seen some thinning out since stopping finasteride 6 months ago. But the fluridil(pm) and spironolactone (am) have seemed to slow down shedding. Hopefully with RU I can get the thickness back that finasteride provided.

BTW Irish i have followed your story and you have gotten great results with RU, which has inspired my interests to try RU. What kind of dose should I start with?

Same goes for me with ru, it has proof it should work and has been tested that it's real, if your applying to whole top use 130-150mg per day in a 4-5ml solution 75% ethanol( everclear) and 25% pg.

So why you stop finasteride ?

Irish:
I was on finasteride for 6 years and dropped the dose 1mg>0.5mg>0.25mg. I kind of wanted to give my body a break from the drug and see if my libido and errections would be different while off finasteride....My conclusion: more frequent wood, easier to get and maintain errection, less watery semen.

Im trying out all the topicals right now to see if i can do with out fina.
So far: Fluridil and spironolactone will not be enough to HALT my loss even if it dose SLOW it down.

I would like to try RU for a few months and see what it can do for my situation.
I probably will go back to 0.25mg finasteride if all else fails andGet a hair transplant and be ok for a few years.

I am continuing the Fluridil/spironolactone for another 3 months. Will keep you posted.

Hey,

So I have been off Propecia due to side effects for a full year now (was on for 3.5 years taking 2 months off), just using Nizoral (not as often as i should) and just had my first MAJOR shed, of course im freaking out. I am curious about the alts you are talking about, what's RU and Fluordil? are these topicals? side effects?

Thanks,
