spironolactone...Who uses it?

I am thinking of adding spironolactone 2% to my current regimen of minoxidil 5% and Nizoral 2%. What is better: liquid or lotion spironolactone? Would one night time application of spironolactone be enough to supress DHT in scalp?
To any one who uses spironolactone: has it improved your situation? Would you recomend this to anyone who cant use finasteride?
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Lizzard - Are you going with the cream or the liquid? I am considering Dr. Lee's 2% liquid. I think it will be easier and less messy to apply. What kind (and from where) did you order?
Any users please give us some input, thanks!

I use both. Liquid all over and cream just on the front. The liquid smells, the cream does not. The cream makes a mess on your head, the liquid does not. You will not be using EITHER product before you head out of the house.

I use it twice a day but in the morningI use if about 45 minutes before I shower so all the smell and residue gets washed out.

At night I add folligen last and it seems to stop the smell and keep the crap off of my pillow for the most part.

I think the spironolactone may be causing vellus hairs on my hairline to go terminal but I am using a lot of stuff and it's too complicated of a situation to figure out at this time.

Man it looks like your using 2 much sh*t like I was doing. Dr lee says you should put a very small amount of spironolactone in your balding area, not very much at all.

And my vellus terminal hair last night would kinda break when you would touch it, but i cleaned all the crap and products outta my hair and let my scalp rest today. I only used a conditioner today and my hair is better. It doesnt break when you touch it now and my scalp is clean. You should lay off some applications.

Plus your using folligen, i still have nightmares about what folligen did 2 my hair.

I think I saw you post that elsewhere. I never had anything like that happen to my hair. That sounds pretty freaky.

I use the spironolactone in accordance with Dr. Lee's directions, I don't use very much at all. As for "balding area," the entire top of my head is thinning. And this started before I put anything on my head.

I think I will try the 2% liquid From Dr. Lee aswell. One 60ml bottle should last 2 months if using 1ml per night. Is this enough time to see its benefits or should i order two and use for 4 months?

If you only gonna use it once per day, i'd say give it 4-6 months. Ideally, it should be used am + pm.

I got my 3 x 60ml bottles of spironolactone 2% for $45

Supposedly the 2% spironolactone absorbs better than the 5% cream. But its half-life is short too make too much diffirence once a day. Ideally like Lizzad said you need to use it twice a day. 5% spironolactone is also a real pain to use if you have diffuse hair.

I use the 5% cream. Hope it works better than the 2% I've managed to get a pretty good technique for applying it to my thinning areas.

Hmmm. So to get optimal results you should be applying twice per day (am + pm).
gourmetstylewellness.com: Care to elaborate on your statement "Hope it works better than the 2% "
I am planning on using this and if it is useless i would liek to know. 8O
I am hoping to use topical spironolactone to replace propecia in my regimen as it seems to be the next best thing. I just want it to maintain my hair.

Where can someone get spironolactone, is it only from Dr. Lee? Also, would many doctors/dermatologists know of this if I asked them about it?
