Splitting Proscar and doses...

I was wondering exactly how everyone divides up their proscar?

At the mo (I am to take my first one tomorrow) I cut it into 1/6 with a damn razor blade from my shaver?

But the sizes are real different...does it matter if say each day your dosage is different? Like 1mg one day, the next 0.5mg, due to cutting it badly?

I plan to try find a pill cutter from somewhere but not sure how that will help me. Anyway, the first piece will be going down the hatch tomorrow morning

That web site says: "To increase absorption of Finasteride and help avoid any loss of that precious 1 - 1.25mg due to digestion; take Proscar on an empty stomach with a glass of grapefruit juice."

I was taking it in the morning with breakfast. Now what... I thought finasteride can be taken any time with or without food. Is this correct?
