Start slowly or all at once?

Hi guys,

I've been using only Nizoral at the moment but am looking to start adding the following:

Saw Palmetto
Minoxodil 5% lotion
Alpecin Shampoo
MSM
Omega 3

and maybe L-Argininen and Silica

Would you recommend starting with one thing at a time and evaluating that before adding anything else or just jumping in with maybe 2-3 at the start?

How aggressive is your hairloss? This question is subjective.

It's quite safe to say the time needed to see results with hairloss treatments is a long one, I would say at least a year to judge anything, do you want to wait a year? Or more?

Also, I don't think Saw Palmetto will be enough to inhibit 5ar internatally to be any use to hairloss, but thats my opinion.

I reckon I was a Norwood 2 in 1999 when I first became aware of a problem. I think I'm about a Norwood 3 now. So progression is fairly slow.

I'm not really convinced about Saw Palmetto either to be honest but. I need a prescription in the UK to get Propecia and haven't been able to convince a Dr. to let me have it.

A couple of years ago I did order Proscar from an online pharmacy and quatered that. I'm reluctant to go that path again due to concerns over what I might actually be getting. I thought SP might be a compromise, albeit a rather lacklustre one I know.

all that crap sucks without min. alpencin shampoo is a joke!

That's ok. That's what I'm here to find out.

Being already on Nizoral, if I add minoxidil then I'm taking 2 out of the 'big 3' aren't I? If I can get hold of propecia then I'll use that instead of SP I suppose.

The reason I considered Alpecin shampoo and the rest was a thread here started by 'first' I think his name was. He listed topical caffeine and the supplements etc and seemed to have some scientific data to back it up. I reasoned that things like omega 3 and MSM supplements could at least do no harm and if they do some good then they're cheap and easy enough to get.

I wouldn't bother with Omega 3 for hair loss. I've been taking it every day for over a year and I haven't seen any benefits to my hair. I don't think any vitamins or minerals have positive effects on hair loss. I only take them for my general health.

Check out Dr John Ashcroft for proscar in the uk. He's a legit doctor and he uses it himself. Think it's about £120 for a years supply. I can't remember his email off the top of my head but if you search the forums it'll be here somewhere!
