Took my first 3 Dutas from Dr Reddys today from inhouse, I decided on a loading dose of 1.5mgs for 10 days then .5mg there after. I'm a NW6 and probably wouldn't have bothered except for the good results from 15% minoxidil with 5% a.a. from MOPC labs. I decided on dutasteride over finasteride because it's stronger and being a NW6 I need all the help I can get. :punk: I'll keep posting my results as I go along, wish me luck! :)

Your welcome, I'm taking all 3 at once on a empty stomach, I read somewhere that dutasteride loses around 15% potency when taken with a meal, also that it's best taken with grapefruit juice but I didn't have any of that.

PS Here's another link you may want to check out.

I don't eat breakfast so I take them about 2 or 3 hours before I eat. Here's what I read about taking them with or without food.

"Following administration of a single 0.5 mg dose of a soft gelatin capsule, time to peak serum concentrations of dutasteride occurs within 2 to 3 hours. Absolute bioavailability in five healthy subjects is approximately 60% (range 40% to 94%). When the drug is administered with food, the maximum serum concentrations were reduced by 10% to 15%. This reduction is of no clinical significance."

>>What are they saying here ??? Does it mean that if we take dutasteride with food, the medication will remain in our body longer? Even though they say there is no clinical significance, would it be better to have the medication in our body 10-15% longer ?<<

No, I think they're clearly saying that less of the drug is absorbed (or "bioavailable") when taken along with food. For just a second or two I also wondered (as you seemed to do) if they meant that the absorption of the drug is merely SLOWED DOWN for a while but still eventually gets absorbed; however, the fact that it has such a long half-life and yet the peak levels in the blood are still reduced strongly suggests to me that there's that extra percentage of it that never does get absorbed, when it's taken with food."

Day 2 update;
Lips and gums feel different, not bad just different.
Vivid dreams last night, one after the other.
Sense of smell seems to be a little better.
Over all I feel pretty good. :)

Day 3 update:

No vivid dreams last night. After I got out of the shower and dried off I noticed my whole body or I should say all my skin felt cleaner than I've ever been aware of. Gums and lips still feel different, but no as much, I think I'm getting use to it. It seems I feel a little more energy and my appetite has picked up, I use to be able to go all day without eating till night time but not for the last 2 days. I really like this dosing schedule, by taking 3 dutas a day for the first 10 days you get the same DHT inhibition in 10 days as you would taking just 1 for 60 days, even though you use 30 days up in 10 your at the same level that it would have taken 60 days to reach taking just one so not only are you inhibiting more Dht faster it's like getting a months free treatment. Here's a direct link to the chart.

So far so good. :)

Sounds good buddy, keep the updates coming!

I am starting my switch to dutasteride in 3 or 4 days

Good luck man! Let us know how it goes.

Day 4 update:
Nothing new about the dutas to report today, I do have some new little dark hairs popping up above my temples but this is from the minoxidil, it's real good to see hair sprouting up where there hasn't been any for at least 15 years. :)

dutasteride is more powerful than finasteride and being a norwood 6 moving slowly into a 5 I need all the help I can get.

I'm taking 3 pills a day for 10 days then 1 pill a day from then on, this is only day 4 but the few sides I've had are positive except for the 1 night of vivid dreams one after the other and my gums and lips feeling different but these are neutral as they didn't and don't really bother me, my libido has been about the same or maybe up a little. I'll post more as I go along.

EDIT: Here's a link to the side affects Sirigaita. http://www.hairsite.com/hair-loss-dutas ... m#warnings

Day 5 update:
Everything's going along about the same except some small bumps appeared mainly on my crown last night, it had been a little tender before but I just thought that I had pushed to hard on the derma roller while rolling. I'll wait and see what happens. So far so good. :)

I was a Norwood Va and in the nine months since I started topical dutasteride plus 2% nizoral, I have seen some pretty exciting results. I have been trying various products for nearly 25 years and nothing else provided any meaningful results.

That's good news John, do you make your own topical dutasteride or buy it from some where? How long before you started seeing results? Btw what is a norwood Va? Thanks.

I make my own -- cut open the cap, squeeze liquid into 5% minoxidil. 1 cap per ml of solution. I apply every other day, but may reduce slightly.

Norwood Va is almost as bad as VI. All I had prior to 9 months ago was fine, unpigmented vellus hairs. Had been making my own "Minoxidil+" (plus finesteride) for years but that did not do much. Xandrox 15%+ might have caused some growth of fine hairs, nothing cosmetically important.

Now I need to buzz what was bald. Not there yet, but if my regrowth continues, 9 months more like this will be something very real.

I am hoping that bitamoprost will been the missing ingredient....

That's great, have you checked into powdered dutasteride? If so what do you think about it? Here's a link. http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/dutasteride.html
Also have you tried the 15% minoxidil solutions? I was using the 5% but started using the 15% and am really pleased with the results.
