Started dutasteride today

That's good news John, do you make your own topical dutasteride or buy it from some where? How long before you started seeing results? Btw what is a norwood Va? Thanks.

I make my own -- cut open the cap, squeeze liquid into 5% minoxidil. 1 cap per ml of solution. I apply every other day, but may reduce slightly.

Norwood Va is almost as bad as VI. All I had prior to 9 months ago was fine, unpigmented vellus hairs. Had been making my own "Minoxidil+" (plus finesteride) for years but that did not do much. Xandrox 15%+ might have caused some growth of fine hairs, nothing cosmetically important.

Now I need to buzz what was bald. Not there yet, but if my regrowth continues, 9 months more like this will be something very real.

Since I believe that dutaseride is my most important product, I only buy brand Avodart.

I was on Xandox Plus 15% for about 1.5 years with no meaningful result. Recently, I have experienced some side effects and I am tapering back to 5% then perhaps to 2%.

I too think Dutasteride is very important, sometimes on the minoxidil my face swells a little (I'm using 15% 3 and 4 times per day) but it returns to normal, this has happened a few times. Keep us posted on your progress John.


Day 6 update:
Nothing much new to report except the bumps are gone and have been replaced by little red spots, I rinsed my derma roller in alcohol just in case.

I just got my Dutas today, was wondering if you cut one of them open and saw what was inside of it?

No but I've bit down on one to see what it tastes like, at first the liquid wasn't to bad but then it had a bite to it. What'd you find when you cut it open?

A clear/ silverish liquid came out. I was just wondering because I want to make sure this stuff is legit, and also because the package it came in was opened, although the actual strip things werent.

Those look just like mine, they Dr. Reddys? I ordered 90 and they came in the same packaging you have with Dr. Reddys and other stuff wrote on the back. Mine was in a plain brown box so I checked Inhouse's web site and they said they may repackage them for shipping. They are probably fine man.

Yes its Dr.Reddys and has all the stuff written on the front.

I think the guy you mentioned above was using brand name Avodart so the liquid inside could probably be different colors

I've checked the different hair loss sites for over a year and Inhouse has a good reputation.



Day 7 update:
Every things about the same, red spots seem to be going away though and I see more new little black hairs popping up above the temples but again this is from the minoxidil although there seems to be a little more than usual. I also added L-Arginine and L-Lysine 1000 mgs each daily into my supplements. All in all so far so good.

I've heard good things about United Pharmacies, I think most Pharmacies are legit after all they do sell some drugs that the effects are felt right away.

This is my second day of doing 1.0 mg ( 2 pills).......

I was a little scared to do 1.5 so I only did 1.0 mg...I do not feel any different.

So now Ive taken a total of 2.0 mg. I plan on going down to .5 after I get to the peak level.


How many more days until I get to the peak level if Im doing a 1.0 mg loading phase instead of 1.5??

I don''t know how long it would take to hit peak DHT inhibition taking 2 a day, guessing I would say between 15 and 20 days. All the sides I felt have been subtle and all good except the 2 neutral ones, vivid dreaming for 1 night and teeth and gums feeling different. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Day 8 update: No changes except a few more little dark hairs appeared above my temples. New hair is always good! unk:

Third day taking 1.0 mg a day. Not sure about the side effects yet. My balls kinda ache but it may be in my head.

I pretty sure my beard growth has slowed down, it had sped up I guess do to MSM and 15% minoxidil use.

Day 11 update: My loading dose ended yesterday, everything's going along well. I think I may have shed a little hair over the last few days it's hard to say. I'm now concerned about getting my follicles healthy so I ordered some L-Arginine cream to use as a topical to help blood flow.

Today makes 52 days on Dutas, I also took a loading dose of 3 pills a day for the first 10 days, no sides at all. I'm regrowing hair but I'm on minoxidil and stared the vag cream about 3 weeks ago, I was a norwood 6 now I'm between 5 and 6. I don't know if the dutas are kicking in yet, I just ordered another 90 from inhouse.

What should I do if I decide to move from finasteride to dutas?
Should I wait to finish finasteride and then imidiatelly switch to dutasteride or there must be a break for about few days? I'm on 1mg finasteride per day for 3 months now.
Can I continue using finasteride and apply dutas topically at the same time.

I'm no expert but I would start dutas before the finasteride runs out, as far as topical dutas some people have good luck, I'm thinking of adding a few to my minoxidil along with my oral dose.

90 day update:
Dutas starting regrowing some hair around the 60 day mark, I think I'm shedding and regrowing at the same time it's hard to tell for sure as I've been keeping my hair short. I did cut back on the minoxidil a little over a month ago, instead of using 15% 3, 4 and sometimes 5 times a day I began using 5% in the morning and a mixture of 5% and 15% in the evening that I think is 10% as I mix them 50/50. I also started using the nirozal cream about every night a while after minoxidil application about a month ago, I gave up on the vag cream about the same time. I hope the regrowth continues as I've still a long way to go.
