Hello guys,

I have been reading posts for a long time now and have finally signed up and started finesteride, so this is about my experience with that. I am from Pakistan and English is not my first language so pardon me if I make any mistakes while making this post.

First a little intro about me. I am 24 and have been shedding quite a lot now for some time and hair loss is something that runs in the family so I am pretty much damned if I don't do anything about it. I have been reading a lot about finasteride lately and finally decided to give it a go. In Pakistan generic finesteride is also available which is dirt cheap and costs around 2 dollars for a months course but I bought Propecia which was for 55$ for a pack of 28 tablets.

So five days ago I started propecia at 0.25 dose everyday first thing in the morning. Everything seems to be fine I am getting the morning wood as normal and erection and sex drive wise everything is pretty normal but for the last 24 hours I have been feeling pain in my right testicle and it has continued since. It is a slight pain but is quite noticeable and I am feeling it continuously which is bothering me and I cannot get my head off it.

I have a few questions in mind and I would be thankful if you give me your opinion on these. Firstly, will this pain subside after continuous use or should I discontinue finasteride? Secondly, if I am getting sides just in the first week am I likely to get side effects in the long run or it might just be temporary and I will be fine with continuous use? Thirdly, if I am getting sides with just 0.25 it means that this dose is working so do you guys think after some time when testicular pain subsides should I increase this dose or continue with this because it seems to be doing what it is supposed to do.

Thanks !

don't panic yet there pal, this is considered normal I got dull testicular pains the first few days too it subsides after about a week or so your body will feel a little off for the first month as everything adjusts hormonal wise. I was also on 0.25mg and still am I'm heading into my 8th week and things are good hair fall is down and my barber noticed some thcinkening and the quality of hair seems better. I may increase my dose to 0.5mg after 3 months

Should I also start using Nizoral shampoo with finasteride?

Sure, why not, or if you don't have any major scalp issues, go with Regenepure DR or any other shampoo with a smaller amount of keto in it than Nizoral but is nicer to the conditioning of your hair itself.

I have dandruff on my scalp. So which shampoo would be a better option and how many days should I use it?

Nizoral for sure, follow the schedule/instructions on the bottle for intended usage. After that you can move on to a more soothing shampoo that is nicer to your hair just to maintain good hair and scalp health. Nizoral is very effective but also a bit harsh to your hair and makes it dry so you probably don't wanna use it more than intended.

Actually Sebamed's piractone olamine dandruff shampoo would do you better, then you could apply 2% Nizral cream after the shower

I don't think you can make a prediction about other side-effects based on your testicular pain. I only had testicular pain when I put pressure on my balls, but on the other hand hand severe ED.
