Alright, so I am back. Officially going into my 5th week. I started the first two weeks at 0.5mg daily to ease my mind, after all the warnings from folks on here and other places. After no side effects, I went and moved to ~0.8mg over the past 2+ weeks. My experiences in terms of sides, I had that mild ball ache randomly for about 3 weeks. Going from 0.5 to 0.8 was really no difference. I was having serious issues trying to sleep at night, I am now an even lighter sleeper and seem to get up more frequently but it has gotten more manageable. As previously mentioned, I had noticed a slight increase in noticeable hair when washing hair. It did not get worse, as of last week I am back to seeing 10-20 hairs per shower (I shower 2x's daily). I do feel a little lighter in the middle and towards front than before.

Couple of other observations, I was a little more aggressive (or argumentative lately) so I was told my better half lol. I did not really notice, but I did start the gym again this week and did notice more drive. Very strange, this could all be in my head. As for other sides, I have not really noticed anything to speak of. All landing gear is functioning as it should. No watery semen, no less semen that usual. I did notice a couple of times that slightly less intensity when ejaculating, but the deed was done. I also have had some add'l stresses in my life as of late, so I will run with that being the cause for now. I will continue to monitor.

Ok well, I wanted to report back. I guess this is all good news. I am contemplating and wondering:

1) I'd like to stick out 80% of dose/0.8mg daily for another 2 weeks. I would think this dose should be fine though, and not sure I really need to push it to 1mg/daily. Thoughts?

2) Is there other signs that would lead me to believe I may actually regrow hair? I know there is discussion of "good responders", not sure how one would know other than growth. Some have said you get a big shed, others talk about different sides. I know this is a long road, an they say 4-12 months to see anything. Be nice to have some hope.

Thanks all for reading.

FYI - I removed pumpkin seed oil from my diet, I found it to make me have to pee to frequently at night. Also reduced dermaroll to 1X's weekly, as I am trying 1mm vs 0.5mm roller instead.

If you are going to take finastride i think you should consider some facts:
1 saving the most important part of your beauty is not side effect free but finastride is the only solution available.
2 no side effects can be forever,it takes time but they disappear, maybe up to a year
3 stay away from this forum if you are at the start of the road and experience the drug yourself.there are some people here which saw finastride from the pharmacy windows and got side effects forever.
4 good luck with the only serious hair loss tratment
2. Sides can last forever, i used fina only half a year, quit because it had so limited effect on hair but the reduced sperm volume from fina continues even now, 2-3 years later. Not too serious though.

3. Absolutely true, and im not gonna try to dictate what others do but we have guys without Androgenetic Alopecia posting about pfs, and ED cases not very interested in real hairloss treatments, hypogonadism is also seemingly prevalent with all kinda "natural" remedies with no effect being promoted. In short, lots of conditions that are irrelevant to the average fina users.
4. Dutasteride, noone have to like it but after some more disappointments eventually most users will admit its the way to go. Its gaining momentum faster now, from my own experience its unfortunate that so few go directly to duta, i wish i had but the internet scaremongering got to me.

Hey all I am back, just poking around and hoping get some feedback from some of you guys who have been on finasteride yourselves.

First two weeks I was on 0.5mg to test the waters, bumped it to 0.8mg for about 5 weeks and now on the full 1mg. So that puts on the 1mg dose now for 6-7 weeks. So I am at about a total of 13 weeks combined. I have continued rogaine foam 2x's daily, dermaroll 1x's 1mm / weekly, I use regenepure dr for shampoo, trying to get healthier as I am at the gym now 3 times a week.

No real troubling sides to speak of thus far, except the usual as others mention, no morning wood, a slight reduction in sexual appetite (however I could use the slow down, was high drive before), no erectile issues to speak of. Wanted to just get this out of the way for those keeping count.

Now onto the issue, so over the past week I am panicking a little. More hair is falling than ever before, typically I see 20-30 hairs per shower (I shower twice a day). I would say its nearly double per shower now, and since starting finasteride I can now see more scalp more towards the front/crown as where before this was progressing around the vertex more.

I know theres no magical symptoms that indicate progress or even regression until it happens but, I was curious if at this stage I should be concerned. I don't know if this is a shed, I am doing something wrong, or what to think to be honest. I was hoping for your guys feedback, I did notice this slight uptick in hair fall as I approached the 1mg mark. I could be imagining it, but it seems as dose increases so does my hair fall.

Look forward to your input!

Thank you

Jason
