Starting Finasteride For The Second Time In My Fight Against Hair Loss. Any Tips?

What happened first time?
Inconsistent with it.
Took one course and then ended stopping for like a month because I couldn’t afford my prescription, and then decided to jump back on it just as my hormones looked like they were levelling out. PFS hit me hard for a few weeks until I suddenly began to recover. Started again almost instantaneously and persisted with it for like 6 months and had good results.
Now fast forward 2 years and I’m getting to that point again where enough is enough and if I don’t take hold of the reins (strands), I will be too far gone to recover.
I’ve attached photos of what my state currently is although I know most people on this forum will try to convince me that I have hair like pre-2012 Justin Bieber. Trust me lads, it’s going.
I’m 23, for what it’s worth.

So this would be like 3rd - 4th time starting... not second... that's how I read it. You've got good hair but does seem to be emaciated... so it's probably going. I've read from different people having some results with .25 mg M-W-F or EOD. So maybe that's what you want to start with and if your shed stops then just stay there and don't increase it.
male pattern baldness is really the wild west right now. No one knows a dam thing. I have been on it for about a week at .125mg give or take since its impossible to split a pill into 8 equal parts so the dosage varies.
I think 1mg is way too much. I am debating stopping it because it gives me lot of headaches that I never had before I took this stuff. I also am in the camp that there is more bad potential for this than good long term. I dont know its worth it for hair, but I do love my hair more than anything.
No sides minus lots of headaches but im on a very low dose. Never got any blood work, but no doctors or anyone ever recommends getting blood work done so I dont know if I see the point of it. We know what to expect based on what the drug does. If you have issues or sides just stop taking it. What does blood work do for you?

i'm on this MWF regime of .25 mg finasteride due to being on finasteride for around 9 months taking daily 1mg and developed Telogen Effluvium, sore itchy scalp and mad density lost and now, sore itcy scalp is gone and density is coming back but i owe that to minoxidil which i started using as finasteride destroyed my hair density..
so anyways, i done this for a month but now i'm using finasteride topically on MWF and not orally - i compounded finasteride topically on my own which is simply crushing half of 1mg and dissolve it in minoxidil which i only use 80 ml and spray a lil water and apply scalp

No need to be like that mate. It’s quite obvious the first time I tried finasteride that I didn’t exactly know what I was doing with it and how it would affect me. Anyway, I appreciate any input so thanks for taking the time to comment, regardless. I’m going to try this method and see where it takes me. I will then be able to increase or decrease the dosage based on what sort of reaction I have.

It any longer and I was under the illusion that my hair loss wasn’t that bad to begin with. Which was probably a result of finasteride working so well.
Hi bud, appreciate you getting to me. Think I’lol start with a regime such as yours and see where it takes me! Whilst you were taking oral finasteride, did you notice any obvious or subtle changes both physically and mentally?
oh hell yes...first few months didn't notice too much of sides then i was horny and shooting like a p**rn star but kinda watery then roller coaster of lil decrease libido and brain fog/fatique why i take it at night and less sperm volume and lil shedding to positive hair growth but miniaturization at same time and then Telogen Effluvium shed around several months and killed my hair density by over 50% but right now no Telogen Effluvium, density is coming back but most likely due to min and not so much brain fog.
