starting my regimen

I have been hanging around on this site for about three months now contemplating dropping in and getting on Propecia. But I have been very reluctant to do so because of all of the bad posts that are written. It seems like one out of every seven is a good post. Well today I went to my dermatologist and got a prescription for propecia and i think I am going to start with that and nizoral. But I sure am nervous about this. Any positive replies on the subject would be much appreciated. I also would be pumped on any other suggestion for my regimen.

Hello,

I don't know anything about your current hair loss condition, but unless you are thinning pretty fast and extensively, I would suggess using minoxidil (2%) or (5%) to start with along with nizoral. I have been reading a lot of negative comments on Propecia as well and since I'm pretty young (22) I'll rather try other treatments before seriously considering using it. I've been using minoxidil (2%) with nizoral for 9 months and I had significant results so far (in the crown area). Although the thing is the growth might seem pretty unsignificant even after a 3-4 month period. But I'll stick with it for at least another year. Good luck.

Propecia is incredible. Happy as can be that little beauty came out.

The type of people that come to these types of forums do not even come close to representing the general population taking Propecia.

How many people are gonna come to a site and post if everything is goin good? Those people are very rare it seems.

good luck, i would go on the big 3 (minoxidil, pro and nizoral) and you will be doing your damn best. you wont be able to dobt yourself. look at the propecia study resuls, their isnt too much to worry about.

thanks

Thanks for the replies, tomorrow I think I am going to pop that little pill. Might as well give the most proven product on the market a try. Cassin what type of results have you seen from finasteride. I am nervous but excited at the same time. I would try minoxidil but my hairloss is not that bad I am a diffuse thinner with a slight receeding hairline. I am only receeding on my left side, no temple recession or thinning. I hope I can just hold this off and may be thicken up what I have left.

Hey. I started the battle like 3 weeks ago. I figured why not start it sooner when eventually I'll do so anyways. Good job. What's your situation and how old are you right now? I am scared and hopeful right now. I feel good to have another friend to join this eternal fight with me. Another note I'd like to make is that, "Don't get discouraged by negative posts" If you know the people's mind, people tend to get worried & panic when they aren't doing well, so it's normal to see more negative posts than positive posts. :) Let's ride it out.

Results have been incredible. Hands down. A little regrowth happened with propecia alone, my hair got thicker, and it is no longer falling out.

My second month sucked for a few weeks as I waded through some sexual side affects. No big deal. They came and went.

lightingcrashes, I am 23 with a norwood 0.5 or 1 with a slight receeding hairline. I am mostly diffuse thinning. I seem alot like you but my temples have not changed any yet. It would be great to have someone to go through this with so lets keep in touch and follow each others progress. I am going to start with just propecia and nizoral, and see how that treats me and then go from there if I do not get my desired results. I just hope to hold this thing off and then maybe thicken it up a little. Thanks for the positive feedback cassin.

im 20 and started propecia 2 weeks ago. im also a diffuse thinner with slight temple diffusing. ive also been using folligen once and sometimes twice a day. i plan on going out and buying some 1% Nizoral shampoo to emulate the propecia trials and stick with that for 6 months to see if i notice any results.

If you want to emulate the Propecia trials you need to use T/GEL not Nizoral.

Guy. As long as you come visit here regularly, we can keep in touch. Let's hope that we don't have to talk to each other in 8 months (Usually the time you see the most progress :) )
