These are some pictures I made today. This was right after I applied minoxidil so my hair is oily.

hello,

Minoxidil is very effective solution it will definitely gives you outstanding result but it will take time
I am telling you some tips by which minoxidil giver better results.

Minoxidil with derma roller

Minoxidil is a product which is already popular for stopping hair loss and encourage hair growth. You can apply it on scalp regularly. But if minoxidil using with derma roller it will give more effective results. Derma roller increases absorption of any product applied on scalp because it enlarge the pores by puncturing needles on skin.
We suggest you to apply minoxidil whenever you are using derma roller, You can get better results, absorption rate will defiantly increases by 10 times.

Do execute these thing and let me know it works or not.
Thank you

Update

I've been on finasteride for almost two weeks now and and there's a couple things I noticed. My scalp is more itchy and I saw an increase of hair loss after being on it for around 10-12 days, this hasn't changed since. I didn't experience any side effects or whatsoever, so that's nice. It's too early to tell if it will have any positive effect but I'll keep this thread updated.

And btw, does anyone now how to change the thread's title? Because it isn't really relevant anymore....

I'm going to drop the minoxidil. Maybe it slowed down my hair loss a little but I'm not even 100% sure. I've been applying it for 4,5 months and it didn't regrow/thickened any hair. It is growing dark hair everywhere else on my body and that's something I don't like at all. Some hair is getting really long like 2 cm. I don't mind such long hair on my legs or lower arms, but on my feet, back, shoulders, belly, butt etc.... it just looks awful.

If I'm gonna lose more hair now I can always consider getting back on it again, I've still got 3 bottles. But since I'm using finasteride I'm gonna count on that.

Why would anybody use 5% twice a day when they could use 10% once and get better results?

Can't get 10% that easy in The Netherlands. And 5% is already pretty strong so

Can't you get any percentage you want by asking a pharmacy?
Has any solution above 5% been proven to work?
zzzz had a good point when he bought that to my attention

Do you actually need to ask for a study for every percentage?

One study for 6%, one for 7%, one for 8%, etc?

Use reason please.

lol. No, you don't need a study. I'm just one of those idiots who think if it's not proven, it MUST be snake oil

Anyway, the actual reasoning is that minoxidil has a 22 hour half-life.

Instead of making your life complicated by taking 5% minoxidil every 12 hours, take 7.5% once every 24 hours, the results will be almost identical.

7.5% minoxidil left alone after 12 hours is equivalent to ~5.1% minoxidil.

For me, I used minoxidil alone for one year(twice daily) which slowed down the loss just a little. It was only after I started Avodart, I started to see some regrowth and a lot of thickening. When I started Avodart, I had a little more density than you so I think it was a good idea starting the Proscar.

Asking "if minoxidil works" and expecting any of us to know if it will work for you is silly. You need to try it and see. It is not a scam and it has serious science and research behind it. All you can do is try it

One month finasteride update

Currently my scalp is getting more itchy by the day and I'm losing a lot of my best hair, especially in the crown area. Maybe it has something to do with me dropping minoxidil, but I highly doubt it since I only used it for a couple of months without real results.
Also, my hair, scalp and forehead are pretty oily. Which is reported as a side effect numerous times.

I'm trying to stay positive but it's really hard seeing those thick hairs fall out.

It's been almost a month since I last posted an update so here it is: My hair is going to complete sh*t. My scalp is so itchy and I see hair falling all day long.. I'm still on 1/4 proscar daily and I picked up Minoxidil again and I have been using that for the last 2 weeks. I'm clueless on what I'm doing wrong but I'm dedicated to continue with this treatment. At the moment I feel kinda depressed, I don't go out that much and worry way too much about my hair situation. It's making me feel really, really bad. Which obviously doesn't help either.
Is it possible my scalp is irritated by using finasteride, Monoxidil and Ketaconazol, all almost daily?
I do see some really thin hairs on my hairline, my best guess would be that those are hairs growing back thinner every time instead of thicker.

You may have a reaction to propylene glycol. Try the foam version of minoxidil. If minoxidil works for you, you should expect major shedding that lasts months. Don't expect any improvement for six months.

Thanks for your reply. I've used the foam the first ~3 months. After that I combined it with the liquid. Didn't really notice a difference, in fact I felt like I was losing less hair after a while. It was only when I had a break because of more body hair growth and starting finasteride when I started to see things going downhill. Like I said I'm using Minoxidio again, 2 x 0.5ml a day though.
