Hi,

I have been on minoxidil and nizoral and many other herbal supplements for around a year now, got great results around the 4-6 month mark then I have noticed it gradually declining over time and about the 1 year mark I feel I really need to get on finasteride.

Is there anything I should be aware of or do first before I go on finasteride along with my other treatments seen as i didnt start it first?

also am I likely to get any regrow back that I have recently lost from going on finasteride with minoxidil and nizoral?

Thanks

get a blood test - t levels
take photos - track results
dont read forums in relation to finasteride sides - you will do your head in

good luck

:agree:

Don't expect sides. If you look hard enough, you'll find SOMETHING that you'll try to attribute to finasteride.

Get a comprehensive blood test. Testosterone and Estrogen are 2 biggies. You always need a fall back plan with any big thing in life, and finasteride is no exception.

Good luck to ya!

IMO he should read about possible sides and see the "dealing with side effects" section to decide if he is ready to deal with the possible consequences.

hi there, sorry to hijack your thread,
but i too started finasteride after a year or so on minoxidil, i can tell you since being on finasteride 9 months now, i have not experienced any negative side effects aprt from the normal Dull Testicle pain which subsided after a couple of weeks of continued use...
but my questions to the experienced members out there would be
do you think that finasteride use after minoxidil would reduce ones possible results , rather than starting both together, to explain further, once some like myself and the OP have seen good progress on minoxidil and once the minoxidil started to loose its effects , would add finasteride to Regime better the chances , or is that it an your time of good effects with minoxidil are over ????

sorry for the Long question

This is true, however you can not read into it too much. be aware and leave it at that. listen to your body and stay healthy

minoxidil will help stimulate growth of existing hair follicles, but I don't believe that it will actually help you re-grow much hair. It's best to use it in conjunction with finasteride or dutasteride.

What is your hair like after starting finasteride a year after minoxidil compared to 9 months ago?
