Hi everyone,

I have been a moderate user of Rogaine for the past 2 years and Nizoral. I had a full thick set of hair in my late teens, but it has started thinning out for the past 2 years or so. I am currently 23.

I decided to make the decision to take the big 3 and start growing back my hair, hopefully. I am planning on taking pictures and posting them on this forum asap and hopefully will be able to show improvements. I was able to get them through my pharmacy for $140 for a two month supply. I hope to find it somewhat cheaper elsewhere. I don't plan on taking generics, but may decide to change that in the future.

Never heard of finasteride causing a tingling, specially the first day of usage!

When should I expect to see some results? I'm only on day 2 right now. No side effects yet, knock on wood. I just finished going through a 3 week shed and it seems to have stopped. I also switched back to Rogaine liquid as it seemed that I was losing more hair with the foam, so I stopped that and it has been about 1 week back on the liquid. As for the Nizoral, should I use it everyday I shower for my first week and then spread it out more?

Most likely, keep the hair you have although you tend to regrow some specially in the crown.

My hair itched like crazy for three or four weeks after starting Propecia. It eventually went away until I had less itch than I did before I started taking it (almost none at all). My hair came in much thicker after that. Then I started Nizoral and Minoxidil and now it's itching like crazy again. This time I think it's just because Nizoral is irritating my scalp, and the Minoxidil irritates it more. T-Gel helps with the itch thou if you let it soak in for 2-3 minutes like it says on the bottle.

I have been on Propecia for a little more than two weeks now and here is my status. I have witnessed only one side so far and that is that my sperm is a little liquidy. I hope this subsides. I have been applying the Minoxidil religiously since I started this regimen. I have also been using Nizoral about 2x weekly.

The one issue I am having is that my scalp is a little itchy. Now the thing is if I go scratch my scalp I have a little white
buildup under my fingernail from the scratch. Is this just dead skin? From the minoxidil? DHT being released? Any thoughts on this?

I am also showing small hairs regrowing on my hairline. I am still shedding, but I am losing less and less. Will the shedding stop? I have taken photos when I started and will post them three months from now when I take the new photos.

don't be alarmed if you re hit by a shed. My shed started at the second or third week...
the first two weeks, I notice a reduced of hairloss.

The shed is yet to come.

That white buildup, you re saying, I believe its the dead skin...

good luck

Well I had a major shed about 2 months ago, and it has diminished tremendously. However I am still losing some hair daily. What I was asking, will the Propecia initiate another shed, or will it stop shedding for now?

The white stuff is probably either from minoxidil or nizoral or both. I didn't have any when I was using T-Gel. Now that I alternate T-Gel, nizoral, and use Minoxidil, my dandruff has gotten a lot worse.

Oh BTW I was using Propecia the whole time.

OK, well I have been on propecia for a little more than 2 months now and things are getting better I think. The only reason why I am currently writing right now is that I have had a little shed the past two days, is this common? I'm not sure if its from the adjustment I made from 1mg to .25mg, do you guys think I made the adjustment to soon? Should I have just have been taken the 1mg for the first 6 months or does it not matter. Thanks.
