Hey.... I'm currently taking propecia 1mg along with kirklands 5% minoxidil and nizoral shampoo. I was thinking about adding spironolactone to this . Would I need to drop the minoxidil?

No. You need the minoxidil for hair growth. I would apply the spironolactone, wait 15-30 minutes and then apply the minoxidil.

Since you're already taking finasteride, I don't know how much it will help. spironolactone acts like finasteride in that it helps prevent hair loss. It does not help grow hair. I bought mine from minoxidil solutions, but I know that this site sells it as well as Genhair.

All I'd say to the original poster is be sure to give Propecia a decent chance before committing to another treatment. It's not unusual to see peak results from finasteride (or dutasteride) two years in... of course I have no idea when you started treatment - adding such info. to the 'view my regimen' tab is useful in this regard.

That said, spironolactone twice daily has been of some benefit to my hair. The gradual frontal thinning which restarted after some four years of dutasteride-inspired stability has been halted, at least for now.
