Stemoxydine - how to combine with Minoxidil? Burning sensation normal?

Hey folks,

I'm 24 and since 17 I have been paranoid about getting bald. I knew my dad started losing hair at a very early age (about 18) so even though I had long, thick hair I was already on the lookout. Man, how I wish I weren't so paranoid all those teenage and college years...

It was only when I graduated college at 22 that I really started noticing my sides thinning and it's when I first looked up Minoxidil.

Today at 24 my front hair is significantly thinner and my sides have become sharp, leading to that familiar v-shaped hairline...

Currently I use Nizoral as shampoo and have the liquid Minoxidil.
I actually prefer it to the foam..it's cheaper and I find it leaves the hair less greasy.

No Propecia for me, even if it's 2% chance or whatever I prefer being bald than anything messing with my hormones moods etc.

Anyways, an older friend of mine, 27, started experiencing hair loss and he bought the Vichy Neodermic kit (which is crazy expensive). He didn't even finish the 1-month pack and he said his hair loss stopped.

So I decided to try it out and even learned from the pharmacist that a new product - Serioxyl was out which contains the same active ingredient - Stemoxydine 5%.

It's more than 2 times cheaper than Vichy at about 30 euros a months supply - and to be honest looking at the size of this flask, it's gonna last me more than a month for sure.

Anyways, I want to ask whether I should cut off the Minoxidil - if not - how do I combine/apply them?

Also - upon trying Serioxyl I get a burning sensation of about 15 minutes after applying.
It smells quite alchol-ly like the Minoxidil. Is that normal and should it be a cause of worry?

I would continue to use minoxidil as well. Just apply the serioxyl a few hours later after its dried in. The burning sensation may pass. It has happened to me a few times on starting a new topical. Which usually stops happening after a while. I use serioxyl myself, but I mix RU58841 in with mine. Works great. Would love to know how well the serioxyl actually works because sometimes I credit 100% of the results to the RU!

Ok, not sure if this thread will pick up again but I've actually had decent results with stemox (via dercos neogenic) Certainly no cure but it helps with shedding and I always get vellus/tiny terminal hairs after a couple months of application. These always shed though if I stop treating the areas for a couple weeks. The problem obviously is cost. I love the product but $60 a month is too much when compared the effectiveness. Are any of the new stemox products comparable? The active ingredients seem to be but they've also mixed in some other **** so it's hard to tell.
