Hi,

I have been on Propecia for 2 week which I know is no-way long enough but I'm coming off it. I have thought things through and read a lot of posts of problems people have had as side effects whcih when I bought this was not mentioned. I have noticed an increase in acne, dried skin on my face, loss of sex drive and I can't put my finger on it but in the day I feel weird, a bit tired rally. None of these effects were mentioned to me apart from the sexual one. I have also read posts about people gaining and loosing weight, shedding hair and getting wrinkles. To be honest when looking though the forum there is less Propecia success stories than I thought there would be :(.

I am only 22 and havent lost a great deal of hair, if any, it is mainly cause it runs in the family and wanted to prevent it. Is there any other ways that people have found to prevent hair loss. I have seen signs in herbal shops advertising hair loss prevention products. Has anyone tried these? I am using Nizoral shampoo which seems to be quite popular on here.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Dan-

There is a reason you read more negative stories than positive ones. People often come to a website like this because they have had problems and are seeking answers. People having good results with Propecia tend not to worry about their hair as much, and are less likely to post on a website like this.

Considering that you aren't even sure that you have lost hair, and the side effects you mentioned, I would suggest that you don't start on the meds quite yet. Monitor your situation but don't worry about it. If you catch hairloss early (which is seems you did, if you have it at all) then the chances of success through meds goes way up. What you could also do is take .5 mg of Propecia which will substantially lower the risk of side effects and still reduce DHT.

Now get out of here, go enjoy your hair!

Thanks for the reply :) I have done too much thinking about my hair these last couple of weeks, going to try and forget about it now for a while until the problem actually gets worse, I feel its taken over my life the last 2 weeks :(.

Cheers
