My girlfriends father has some strange type of hairloss that I have never seen before and was wondering if anybody knows what it is by my description. He had his hair very long (About 4 inches on top, 2 inches on the side, but would usually sport a combover haircut to hide his pattern of baldness. The type of baldness consists of patches of skin where it seems like a burn scar in the sense that there is no presence of follicles or visible pores at all. It just seems as completely smooth skin where hair never grew to begin with.

I spoke to him and he tells me that when he was losing his hair in those areas, it would simply fall off with the top layer of skin and everything. Now that sounds disturbing but even more interesting is the fact that he gets it not only on the top, but also on the sides as well. As if this wasn't enough, the guy has a perfect NW0 hairline. The only problem is the large hairless patches. Does anybody know which type of alopecia this is?
