Swapping Foam and Finepecia for dutasteride and Spectral DNC???

Have been on Finepecia for about ten months now and added Rogaine Foam about two months ago.

Thought I was starting to stabilise on the finasteride but am not sure due to a mental minoxidil shed i'm currently going through. Seriously it's thinning out like a Motherf***er!

Anyway have just been reading up on Spectral and it seems to have all the benefits of Rogaine 5% plus all the added things like Copper Peptides etc.

Was originally on Kirkland minoxidil solution for a couple of weeks prior to starting the foam but it was a pain in the arse to use. What's Spectral like to apply and is it that much better than the foam to be worth the added inconvenience?

Also i'm coming to the end of my finasteride supply, I only have about a month and a half's supply left. Was thinking of jumping in with both feet and getting a six month's supply of Dutas as a replacement.

Problem is I appear to be suceptible to bad sheds when making alterations to my regimen and I don't know whether to wait until the current minoxidil shed stabilises before thinking about swapping finasteride for dutasteride as if it continues much longer things are gonna be looking really noticable.

Anyway from what i've read this switch seems to be the way to go in the long term but am not totally convinced.

Any advice anybody could give me would be greatly appreciated anyways, cheers.

great move in my oppinion. I switched from fincar and minoxidil to Dutas and minoxidil plus spironolactone at the beggining of the year. The first 3 months were awesome and the amount of regrowth was seriously like I had a transplant. Im at 3 1/2 months now though and have been sheeding for the last 2 weeks quite badly. 3 month sheds a widely reported on dutasteride though and Im riding this one out.

I also take 1/3 of proscar a day just to be on the safe side but Im pretty sure the dutasteride is responsible for the heavy gains. A lot of people have reported frontal thinning on dutasteride and just to be safe you may want to get some 5% spironolactone. Just apply it a couple times a week along hairline and that should prevent any thinning.

I would stick with the rogaine foam over the spectral DNC purely for convienience reasons. Although I use Xandrox 15% I have tried rogaine foam and its so much easier to apply than the solutions. Only reason I didnt carry on using is cause I feel my scalp is depensant on the higher concentration of minoxidil.

Sheds are fu cking painful and since starting treatments I have gone though 3 of them. Each time though the hair has come back stronger. Its important to carry one treatments and try not to be discouraged by it.

So finasteride for 10 months, and foam for the last 2.

I think you are getting a foam shed, I had a little one last month.

Personally I don't think you should change a thing for a while, because you will never be able to figure out what is working.

I took finasteride for four years, and I found this forum and added the other components of the Big3 (+ MSM). I think the foam is why I am getting new growth, has to be, but I'm sure the nizoral/Revita helps too.

I have a pile of dutasteride and am tempted to take it but I want to use the foam for at least 6 months. Good luck and take pics.
