I have been on finasteride ( 1 mg ) for the almost the last four months and I guess it's a little early to predict whether it is working or not. However, I don't want to give hairloss as good a fight as I can. So I was thinking if it would be more effective to use 2.5 mg finasteride ( or for that matter 5 mg). Also are there sides involved in switching from 1 mg to 2.5 mg ? Please let me know soon. Thank you.

their has been no scientific data to back that using more than 1mg is any better than just using 1mg

however i have heard of peoples on this site that thought finasteride was loosing its effectiveness after 5 years or soo and bumped their dosage to 2.5mg

just something to consider
i would give it time ...like a year to see if raising your dosage will be more effective

cheers mate

my opinion is it won't do anything either. 1mg is the prescribed dose, upping the dose is not going to help.

and yes, 4 months is way too earlier. at 4 months i was just getting over my initial shed. it wasn't until a year i really noticed a difference.

stick with the 1mg/day. are you taking genuine propecia?
