Switching from finasteride to dutasteride

I am switching from finasteride to dutasteride. How long does the dutasteride take to take in because I do not want to go off finasteride if it doesn't lower my blood DHT right away. Can someone tell me if it is safe to stop taking finasteride while I am taking dutasteride? Ive seen charts that say dutasteride takes 29 days to kick in,could someone fill me in on this?

Im almost a year in on finasteride and considering the switch as well. Will be following this thread- what's the best way to switch/taper off finasteride and on to dutasteride?

Can I ask why you're changing? I'm not sure what the difference is between finasteride and dutasteride. Thanks.
